Better TUF Coach Yet Ortiz or Nogueira?

Up until TUF 8, I still thought Tito Ortiz was the best coach we're seen on this show. He really bonded with the fighters and created a team atmosphere that allowed those fighters to improve their game.

Now, I've seen season 8 and I think Big Nog has given Tito a run for his money. Nogueira treated his fighters well and spent more time with them (in the gym and out) than I've ever seen before. There was no way you could hate him...he's become one of my favorite fighters just watching the show.

Who do you think did a better job? If neither, please list.

OsborneMcCarty, it's quite clear that Nog was the best coach so far. But I have a question for you, what really counts, having talented players on your team or being a team player? Let me know~!

Even as a Tito-hater I thought he was an excellent coach on TUF but Nog has completely won me over. Even though these guys are competing against each other he's brought a sense of team unity and respect that is sadly missing in TUF. He's tried to bring a level of caring that is severely lacking on TUF.

Hughes used it as means to press his beliefs on fighters Nog has used it to actually care about these guys and try to help them as best he can with genuine feeling.

I liked Nog before I love the guy now- he is pure class and a true sportsmen- this sport needs more guys like Nog to represent it.

In my eyes, being a team player.

I've seen many "talented guys" on the show but because they were self-centered and weren't willing to learn it severely hurt their careers.

Fortunately, there are alot of talented fighters who are ALSO nice guys. Look at Amir the winner of TUF 7. Everyone thought he was a nice guy but would never get by the more "talented" CB Dollaway. We all know how that ended.

I was shocked at how much his team respected him and how much he respected them. He acted like they were his kids.

Nogueira is the guy I'd rahter be around however the better coach was Tito.

He seemed to really help his fighters improve.

And as much as I like Nogueira he had some amazingly talented fighters in Efrain, Phillipe, and Bader.

I'll be honest Junie is a nut however he did look worse in his two house fights then he did on his fight to get on the house and Roli sucked so it wasn't just talent level of opponents.

Mir didn't seem like a good coach to be honest. Reminds me of Serra when he coached. Where he relied on his fighters talents early on and none of the guys improved on the show.

but in all seriousness, mir teaching striking is just wrong....just plain wrong....his striking has always been terrible

not to mention him screaming "NICE!!!!" every damn fainted punch and kick....."3 strikes everytime, nothing less" wtf...sometimes i think i know more about fighting as an observer than he does as fighter

Well I know that he isn't well rounded and Mir is convinced that he is so I guess I might know more then him lol.

Mir was a terrible choice for a coach I said that when they picked him because outside of BJJ he sucks at everything.

Drysdale is a fantastic BJJ guy and him bringing him in is smart but it doesn't matter.
