Bader on his performance against Eliot

For those of you who haven't read this yet, you are not the only ones who are dissapointed in the Bader fight... Bader is too

Quote:
Well, what can I say? I could hardly watch my fight myself because it was so boring, and I will accept all the harsh comments wholeheartedly. I promise you this: I will never have a fight like that again, don't give up on me just yet.

Going into that semifinal fight, I felt I like I never showed up. I had a bad feeling about it for some reason, and I was trying to snap out of it, but it looked like I never did.

I let the pressure of getting into the finals cloud the way I fought. Eliot Marshall is a great guy and a well-rounded fighter for sure, but I definitely should have opened up my ground and pound while being on top. I was giving his jiu jitsu too much respect, and for some reason I didn't do a damn thing. I am very disappointed looking back at that fight even though I got the decision and advance to the finals next week.

I have had 10 fights in my career with eight stoppages. I have never had a fight like this, and I feel sick about it.

I talked to Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira about it after the fight since I was tremendously disappointed, and he just told me that it happens sometimes and that he could tell before the fight that I wasn't my usual self. I am over it and looking forward to my finale fight and bringing in a whole new style. I hope you all can move on with me. On the 13th of December, you will see a new fighter.

Thanks for that dude. I am really hoping that Bader's next fight shows how impressive he really is, because this one was a total let down. I gotta say though, he is a cool dude for being this honest about that performance.

this whole season has completely changed my outlook of Nog....I'll be honest, before the season started, I had some pretty ill feelings toward Nog, most from the Cro Cop fight and wanting Mirko to get a rematch with him at some point...

but jeez, this guy is an incredible man....and it really shows here...in contrast to say Mir who was bitching about Bader, Nog is like a father to these guys....

with respect to the fight at hand, as a wrestler, i think there is alot of pressure to simply get the W and walk away...i mean, this is a tournament for a six figure contract....i'd probably take the least amount of risks possible too

not sure how Bader plans on beating Vinny...hopefully he can keep it standing and avoid Vinny pulling guard...but I dunno if he can...I'll be rooting for him cuz I liked him from the start

Cdol has a little shameless behaviour in the past
ryan still remains my pick for the season from episode 1. I still see this guy as a great fighter and athelete and have seen him as that since his audi tape wayyy back. I hope he takes it all the way

Vinny is beatable and I think the best is yet to come from Bader. I was never a Nog fan before this season of TUF either and now I'm a convert.

I like Nog a lot more now that I've seen this season as well... he really cares about the sport and I like that, we can rest easy knowing that even after Nog retires we'll continue to see him for years to come in corners and in training.

As for Bader, I'm glad to read this. Cause like most people, that fight shocked me. I think all of the finalist this season of TUF, Junie excepted of course, were stand up guys with great futures. I believe we'll see at least six of them for a long time.... I'm counting out Roop and Junie.

Sidenote: Watching some of Dana's video blogs and things he seems to appreciate Junie to some degree, maybe that's just because the guys is a great ratings booster. Either way, if he beats Kaplan and gets one or two more Ws he'll have a future too.

Point being, this season could be one of the best season for The UFC yet... IMO

I was pretty much of the same opinion of Nog before this started. It took maybe 1 or two weeks of the coaching and I immediately did a 180 with my attitude towards Nog. He seems to be a great coach, a guy with a positive outlook on everything and a good person in general. The way he brought the guys together like a team, how he supported his guys win lose or draw and just how he tried to embrace whatever style suited each particular fighter.

Anyways back on point, I was a total Bader fan up until that match with Elliot. He seemed like a normal hard working guy with a good wrestling base and aggressive style to go with it. I'll take the excuse for what it is but if he does the same thing against Vinny whether he wins or loses I definately won't be a fan of his. I respect a guy way more that brings the guns out and puts it all on the line. With that said, a gameplan is a gameplan and the guys should stick to it if they wanna win. If that's his or anyones gameplan every fight, I won't be cheering for them.
