Well again we see Pat Cote in a no win situation. The bright side is winning 200 grand. The down side is it costing him 200 grand in hospital bills when the Champ is done with him. This guy can not get a break. From the time he came into UFC he has drawn tuff fights that ended up with having his ass handed to him. Again this will be the case unless the champ falls down, hits his head, and knocks himself out. This is all depending on Cote winning his fight. It would be in his best interest to lose this fight and not go on to fight for the Title. The reason for this I belive is this. Cote is still young. He is going to become a better fighter in time. I do not believe it it is his time to fight foor a Title.

Who has the best chance fighting for the Title.

I couldnt agree more. If Cote wins this competition it'll be the worst career move for him. A young guy with potential, he gets this title shot with Silva, gets completely dismantled, and you wont hear from him again. Young guys that get title opportunities just fly by in this sport. And if Cote gets past Lutter (which I dont think he will) this is what is going to happen.

I didnt see the Cote vs DeWees fight. What was it like?

it was basically Cote punching the fuk outs Dewees, edwin tried 2 take downs but landed on his back where Cote beat the fuk outa him more...not too devastatin but enough to let Cote win unaminous(<--think i spelled it wrong..)..

I think the cut on Edwin's head was a huge factor in this fight - I think if he wasn't hurt Patrick would have gotten a better fight out of him. I still believe that Patrick would have won - Edwin is young and still learning - I think he will be a powerhouse if he stays in it.
Patrick has been put up against some really tough opponents in his career and fought like a champ - the guy has heart!

As for the winner getting a title shot right away - shouldn't happen - they should have to have a few fights to build up to that. Just because they won the show doesn't mean there aren't other guys out there fighting that don'e deserve a shot as well.

My humble opinions.

I still want to see the fight because you say Cote punched DeWees good? Was there any haymakers or fence shots?
wasn't really awesome punching..just lots of it...and edwin covering his head for like 2 secs after the punches did stop..so what i'm trying to say was that no Big shots that rocked edwin

He can go back to Canada for long term treatment at no cost. One advantage of being a Canadian fighter.

He still has to win the show, though. It's not a done deal.

No one yet but Diego will get his shot soon as will Mike swick.....also if things keep going well Stevenson could get a shot at sherk's title in the future but I dont think he stands a chance.

OH I almost forgot Florian got his title shot but fell short the the Shark........
