Serra vs. Lytle - Lytle Was ROBBED!
What a joke the call of that fight was... There is no way that Matt Serra beat Chris Lytle tonight. I am almost to the point of saying the UFC is getting too much like pro boxing!!!

As Mike and Rogan stated, it was a tough fight to judge, as neither fighter really displayed clear dominance. Although I felt Serra clearly took the 3rd round.

To say Lytle was robbed is rediculous. Neither fighter did much to clearly win the the fight, and I also had Serra winning it before the result was announced. He just seemed to be the busier of the 2 fighters. I think Serra just destoyed Lytle's gameplan. He kept him in the clinch (and on the ground ) as long as he could so Lytle couldn't strike from the outside. Anyway, in my opinion Lytle was not 'robbed'. Serra is the deserving winner. St. Pierre will destroy him...but that's another thread all together...

well actually i knew matt serra i did 2 years of jiu-jitsu
im 14 years old and been wrestling for 6 years.
i would like to add that when he said that his fans were to boo lytle he would have told them to stop. This happened when he vs. Penn. You cant see it but you can hear the crowd get alot quieter

I had no problem with Sera winning but I was a little shocked at the judges' scorecards. Two of them were 30-27 Sera and one of them was 30-27 Lytle.

That almost seems like one judge was watching a completely different fight than the other two. Can any of you MMA fighters {which I am not even close to being one} give your take on that? How can one judge see the fight so radically different than the other two?

I think they gave it to Matt because he was so aggressive.

Aggressiveness can make a BIG difference in the judging of scores in a fight where not much happens.

I agree with the threadstarter Lytle was robbed. He was clearly the more skilled fighter, nobody won the fight really, but Lytle was clearly the most skilled and it pisses me off that all you have to do to win a fight in the UFC is have good charisma, and talk highly of yourself, and apparently foot stomp and move your body in short quick jerky motions but not actually be doing anything. Serra just made himself look like he was beating him up by moving fast he does it all the time if you actually watch he is doing absolutely nothing but moving his legs and hips really fast but it never accomplishes anything whatsoever. Lytle was the better fighter therefore I felt he should have gotten the win. Maybe he should learn how to break dance or something cuz that basically all Serra does. I think it's funny how they always say he has submitted some of the best in the world and has world-class jiu jitsu....who the hell has he submitted that can be considered "some of the best". Pete Spratt? Ha! Please... Kelly Dulanty? Kelly who?....Greg Melisi? Who's that guy oh yeah no one knows cuz he's 0-1. Serra is so overrated it's crazy. Charisma gets you far in the UFC obviously that is the #1 thing they look for.

Agreed.....Lytle got robbed.....HOWEVER, Im pretty sure hes gonna eventually get a title shot so it all will work out for him in the end

I hope so, he was really impressive with that takedown defense. So was Martin Kampmann BTW...

I thought that neither fighter won. The only reason the judges gave it to Serra was due to the fact that he had better "Octagon Control". Neither fighter did any real damage in the fight, and I would have liked to see a fourth round as I am sure many of you would have as well. Seems a bit ridiculous to give away $200 000, a Scion tC, and a watch for pressing a guy up against a fence for 15 minutes and having very little success in taking him down. For what was supposed to be the main event of this Finale it was terrible. Scott Smith vs Pete Sell was easily the best fight of the night.
