Is Serra a better match up for Hughes anyway?
I really, really felt for Lytle yesterday, such a razor thin decison, kissing $200 000 good bye and a title shot when it was that close, he just fell into a turtle position and stayed there for like 30 seconds and then left the octagon. So now it's decided that Serra is facing Hughes ... based on what I know of Serra, he is a great ground guy and probably better than Lytle, although we heard how well rounded Chris is. Anyway, since Chris' strength is more in stand up and if Hughes got him down, maybe he'd have an easier time with him than Serra, who is apparently pretty gifted on the mat. So is this the better fighter to face Hughes? OH WAIT, WHAT ABOUT GSP? He'd eat Serra alive!

Serra vs. Hughes will be a replay of Verrissimo vs. Hughes, which was a terribly boring fight!

Just the kind of fight I would love to see, two manhuggers laying on the ground in homoerotic positions trying to "grapple" each other. They should just get a room in a cheap motel and when they come out they can tell us who "won".

serra would get pounded out within 3 rounds against hughes. same with gsp.
karo handed serra his ass hardcore style. I think karo would have knocked him out with one more round he was getting such a beating.

LOL!
Yeah, Serra's good on the mat, but he can't sub Hughes or GSP. I see this fight being very boring, whether it be Hughes or GSP.

Hughes has improved since the Verrissimo fight.
Hughes will utterly decimate Matt Serra. GSP will utterly decimate Matt Serra.
Serra doesn't stand a chance. His bread & butter is his BJJ, but how is he going to get Hughes(or GSP) down, when he couldn't even take Lytle down?

I love the TUF shows and think it has done alot of good for MMA and UFC in particular, but the problem with this years show is they gave out title shots instead of a UFC contract. It got ratings for the show and will help sell some PPV,but its flawed.
Sierra is a 155 pound guy and is too small to take on Hughes or Sierra. Lytle is a bigger guy and had to cut alot of weight to make the 170. Sierra is a powerhouse at 155,but isn't big enough to matchup against the best 170 fighters.
I do think Sierra deserved his win though. Lytle wasn't the aggessor and did little to earn the victory, although I was shocked that all the cards were 30 to 27. I figured it would be 29/28 on all 3 and a split, since it was that close IMO.

This is my prediction. Serra will not be able to handle GSP or Hughes. Sure, Serra has ground skills. Given, he wasn't able to execute any game on Lytle. He obviously did not have anythig else to offer. His striking is sub par. His arms are too short. All he can do is drop to the mat when pressures on him. GSP and Hughes is on another level.
I agree with the previous post. The show has brought a lot of attention to the UFC. But giving a title shot for this season's winner is far fetched. I cannot think of one person on the show that can take the belt.

GSP vs Serra will probably be a terrible match up first he GSP supervise the training of Serra for 6 week. Probably learn a trick or 2 on Serra stand up game vs GSP will probably be comparable to Cote vs lutter ground game quick No swept
