Lutter tells Cote his plan.
Travis Lutter commented Before his fight with Cote that there was nothing special about his game plan. He seemed confident saying that he did not train any special way, and his plan was simple and the same as most BJJ fighters to take down there man and submitte him. What I did find interesting was his comment about Cote believing his own hype. Lutter said in so many words this might cost Cote the fight . Cote came out of the back and looked like someone attached battery cables to him. He was pacing and pointing at Lutter trying to intimidate him. The bell rang Lutter took him down, they jerked around for about 15 seconds and Lutter took his arm and and bent it the fight was over.
Do you think Cote got caught or is Lutter better then anyone expected.

Neither. Cote is worse than anyone expected. Except me and a couple others.

Lutter was pretty open with his gameplan that night. I am not really impressed with him either. But the guy knows his BJJ and has a chance with Silva...............If he can get it to the ground that is.

He didnt have to be open about it, everyone knoew what he was gonna try to do. It was a matter of Cote sprawling or being on the ground. He took him down- he won. Simple...

Lutter has sick BJJ, one of the best in the USA. But I don't think Cote defended well. Basically if you keep the fight standing with Lutter you can beat him. That's the key for Silva, keep it standing and it's a wrap. Should be interesting, Lutter takes it back old school, he's almost strictly a BJJ fighter.

Travis is a one dimensional fighter, but he's damn good at that one dimension. Cote/Lutter is a really good matchup for Travis and a bad matchup for Patrick. Lutter is very underrated by alot of people.
I definitely think he was the best middleweight in that house and I was glad to see him win, especially the way his team almost screwed him at the end by not training with him.
Still, no chance against Silva.

I think a 7 year old could of told Cote what Lutter was going to do lol.
Cote isn't a bad fighter, hes just not a GREAT one.
Everything i watch his fights i just think to myself, can't he finish this guy?
You wanna talk about a guy whos got a record that doesn't resemble his talent is edwin dewees. That guy says he is more of a submission expert. Thats rediculous i counted and found 5 times in his fight against his fight against cote where he could of had either an armbar/kimura or a triangle choke. But just like in his fight against Jorge he just lays there and covers up, his defence is more of a hey lets try and wait till the end of the round and try again.

Lutter took Cote down to the ground with ease. I doubt the same will happen against Silva.
Lutter better have an amazing chin and be willing to take some punishment when he goes in to shoot.
