I have to agree with Dana in that this fight was far far from impressive. Lawson had a few good moves in there and Dent's Anaconda was nice and all but the whole fight looked sloppy.

about what I expected. Lawson is a hell of a fighter and allot better then dent but before the fight I said he may be too excited and rush in and either get caught or waste all his energy early. however I still thought he would pull it out of his ass until the second round.

I think he is kinda like the dean of mean. He is an awesome fighter but gets way too excited and rushes in.

not from a skillwise or takedown defense perspective, but Dent's standup looked a lot like chuck. Just the way his posture and hands were set up, it reminded me so much of the iceman. very awkward, and for him, seemed kind of uneffective.

still, I liked the fight, and dent a little more. he could've rushed in when his opponent gassed, but it could have ended terribly. The guy couldnt hold his arms up, but he still threw up that flying knee, which could have caught someone who was being careless.

just cuz he doesnt have a frat boy mentality, the show is putting him in kind of a bad light; but i suppose ignoring hendo's advice isnt the smartest thing to do.

Dent looked awful! Lawson had his hands down the entire fight and Dent never stepped in with a punch. That choke looked terrible. Poor performance by both fighters... I don't think Dent will win his next fight, no matter who he fights.

Who is going to replace Pierce?

Dent defended ok on the ground and sunk in a good choke. They both looked hesitant and sloppy though. I don't really care for Dent too much he's too much of a whiner like Pierce. I don't really care too much for anyone on the US team.
Really I don't know why I watch it cause I don't like Bisbing anymore either and Dan doesn't seem to be much of a coach. But all in all I guess they are doing better than I would.:dunno:

That choke was not good at all. He basically had a prone non fighting opponent by that point in the fight and it still took him a long time to set it up and to get into position to finish it.

Lawson completely dominated Dent in the first round and if he didn't gas so badly I am sure the second round would have been more of the same.

All in all - that fight sucked hard.

Lawson is decent but it was obvious Dent had a defense for every offense that lawson had on the ground (Lawsons stand up looked terrible) to bad he was afraid to engage on the feet he had ALOT of oppurtunities to capitalize on for the KO in tht fight.

Could just be the jitters though you know? I think the dude has some skills he jsut has to know when to let lose. it' obvious Dent had no idea how to get off his back but hey atleast he had decent sub defense.

I wouldnt say either guy is stellar at anything but neither were exactly Richie Hightower either.

Dent had a decent guard. He got guard back fairly quick too when he got passed. I also thought that he defended the GnP well too. Lawson just didn't dish it out the way, I think, he's capable.
IMO Dent may have won the fight, but in the long run Lawson has the ability to become a better fighter. Dent is uncoachable in alot of ways. I know coaches around here that wouldn't put him in the cage with an attitude like he has during training.

I think if Lawson didn't gas he'd have won easily. I was far from impressed with Dent, he looked really bad. All the best to him though.

I didn't know that. "Went the distance" still doesn't cut it. Im sure Danzing and Efrain have improved since and would kill Dent in a fight.
