On a radio three weeks ago, Jens Pulver announced he and BJ Penn will be coaching. He described BJ Penn as fat and looks forward for a rematch with him.

thats right bj would whip jens ass any day of the week and if bj goes down to 155 he'll be in much better shape

Jens is yet another exchamp who thought they were leagues above their opposition only to be put in their place. I think BJ wouldn't have much problem taking Jens out but I doubt he'll go back down to 155. He's got too much to prove in the 170 division.

Jens has no right to be talking sh*t. He just came back from getting scraped by anyone who's anyone in PRIDE. He got beaten soundly by Sakurai and decimated by Gomi. He came back to his old stomping ground and lost in under a minute to a semi-decent fighter.

Penn came back to the UFC to fight at 170, where he is way outsized, and GSP couldn't stop him. Penn had a strong showing against Hughes and almost finished that fight with a handful of different submissions. He's coming off a loss, but it's the first time he's ever been stopped in a fight and it wasn't like he got dominated.

Sherk > Pulver
Penn > Pulver
and even
KenFlo, Fisher and Guillard > Pulver

Pulver is coming back to what is the toughest division in the UFC, perhaps one of the strongest divisions in the history of the organization.

Just look at this list:
Spencer Fisher (19-2-0) 4-1 UFC
Kenny Florian (7-2-0) 3-2 UFC
Melvin Guillard (38-6-3) 3-1 UFC
Tyson Griffin (7-0-0) 1-0 UFC
Mark Hominick (10-4-0) 2-0 UFC
Duane Ludwig (11-4-0) 2-0 UFC (one of those wins over Genki Sudo)
BJ Penn (10-4-1) 6-3-1 UFC
Sean Sherk (29-2-1) 4-2 UFC
Joe Stevenson (30-7-0) 3-1 UFC

Any of these guys would have smashed Pulver with the shape he was in against Lauzon. For Jens Pulver to come out and talk smack about deserving a title shot in a division like this when he came running back to the UFC after a bad stand in PRIDE, and then losing! It makes me angry.

Maybe he should stop pretending like he has a shot at controlling this division. He couldn't be Gomi and Sakurai, what makes him think he can come in and dominate the guys who are equivalent to that in the UFC.

I want BJ to fight Jens, because I want to watch another Miletich guy get smashed into the canvas, but on paper and in reality, I don't see Jens having a chance in hell at winning this matchup.
