This is gonna be a great fight, and as close as it is im gonna have to give it to Nelson. Yes Kimbo is a beast and isn't to be taken lighty, but everything Kimbo can due Nelson has done, and with experience. The only thing that will cost Nelson the fight is if he gets to cocky which i def. a possability, or he gases early and Kimbo capitalizes. We will have to seee =O
How so? Based on what we've seen in the past, his wrestling and bjj are light years ahead of Kimbo's.
And I'm not sure why people are so sure he'll get knocked out if he stands with. Only Arlovski, one of the hardest hitters in the sport, has ever finished him. And even he needed a three massive shots to do that.
Roy should submit Kimbo, or even TKO him. I mean, nothing against Kimbo, but how much do you think Kimbo has really changed since the Thompson fight?
None of the guys so far show any remote talent to be in the UFC heavyweight division, the fights are plain old boring, and if Kimbo loses to Nelson next week the ratings are going down the toilet too. This season has been a massive dissapointment thus far, the only reason it's getting any viewers is because of Kimbo and the more dedicated MMA fans. It really is go time for Kimbo now, if he loses then all the UFC fans out there will be thinking "Wow, Kimbo lost to this fat guy he must be terrible" and if he wins "Kimbo beat a fat guy", practically the whole show lies on the result of next weeks fight.
i just checked out some of roys fights on youtube....if kimbo loses im gonna stop watching tuf..period even in roys "prime" he was fat and slow...now hes even more out of shape..i think roy has the "hey i was in ifl ive fought big name fighters" stuck in his mullet and is gonna get knocked the f*ck out
ill believe it when i see it i dont listen to "hey my boy is here" or " i herd from a guy whos knows a guys brother whos cousins little sisters homeroom classmates boyfriend is friends with a guy that holds the mic on the set" its bs and i cant believe ppl buy it
I'm not betting on a fight that has already happened but if Kimbo ever fights in the UFC (and I assume he will even if he loses his first fight in TUF because he is a draw) then I will be happy to bet on his opponent no matter who it is.
i was one of the bigest kimbo heters up until last week...he has really impressed me...do i think he will go all the way in tuf? no but i know he will go further than roy "beer gut" nelson
Sorry, you are dead wrong on this. Nelson is a fatass, but he is legit. He will make Kimbo look so bad that Dana White will probably reward Nelson with a contract even if he doesnt win TUF. Nelson will prove everything nasty thing Dana said about Kimbo is true.
Kimbo is just a big guy with rudimentary striking, he has no cardio, no chin, no judo, no jitz, no wrestling, and a mediocre work ethic. If this fight hadn't already happened, I'd bet anything you care to name, including my firstborn son, that Nelson destroys Kimbo.
The fact is Kimbo doesn't need to win the show he is probably going to get fights in the UFC anyway. Kimbo is a much bigger draw than anyone else on TUF. The UFC knows it else they wouldn't have brought him on. The UFC is going to cash in on Kimbo's notoriety. Last weeks episode was the highest rated TUF ever and it wasn't because of Roy Nelson.
ok we will see...you know the difference between you and me? i will admit if im wrong and if kimbo loses ill say i was wrong but i say none of you will say shit but oh it was a fluke or some dumb sh*t ....and ooooo thanks for the neg reps lol
I bet Nelson gasses 2 minutes into the fight and Kimbo takes the win from there. Nelson has had some decent victories in the past, but in what they show of him training he just does not seem to have any form of gas tank. I think he came in thinking he would win by default and he may get beat by a guy who can throw punches longer than 2 minutes. I think Kimbo wins this one.
Anyone else notice that none of the HW's really seem to have cardio? They all seem to gas after a couple minutes of any excersize.
Seems to be the case with a lot of the TUF seasons though. You'd think that these fighters would come to the show in shape seeing as they know they will be on it. Cardio is the one thing that you can train in MMA by yourself. I don't see why so many guys have issues with it.
Nelson is an easy pick to win this fight. I think he wins in any area, and yes I include striking. I like Kimbo's attitude on the show and he seems like a decent guy, but he is not skilled enough to beat Nelson. Now it seems to some on this forum that six pack beats beer gut any day of the week, but I think skill generally beats appearance.
I think Kimbo takes this actually. Roy seems to have trouble with good strikers and Kimbo's TDD has to be improving with 'page. I think Roy is also waaaaaaaaaaaaaay too confident for his skill level. I'd love to see Kimbo smash his face, not because I'm a Kimbo fan, but because Roy has basically been exactly what I expected Kimbo to be on this season. He's big headed, doesn't want to train because he thinks he's too good for the other fighters. His entire attitude towards fighting and his demeanor on the show just pisses me off to no end.
Damn how funny would it be if the street brawler KOed fat boy. I'm pulling for Kimbo he is humble and came to learn fatass nelson has Greg Jackson to teach him and is too full of himself to listen to him.
I see the fight going this way: they start the fight standing up, with Kimbo being very hesitant. Nelson stalks him and Kimbo backs away since he doesn't want to trade. Eventually they start trading blows with Kimbo getting in more hard blows. Nelson goes for the takedown and fails once or twice before getting it. With Kimbo on the bottom, Nelson wants to finish the fight and leaves enough room for Kimbo to lock on a textbook gogoplata. After the match, Nelson gives an interview calling Kimbo the best grappler not only on the show but arguably the best he's ever faced.....
......But seriously, I see Kimbo and Nelson in a standing war with Kimbo getting the KO (or a knockdown finishing with a TKO) near the middle of the first round. I say that since Kimbo has the faster hands and Nelson ain't much of a striker.
Kimbo loses, get over it, its going to happen... I heard that he lost so long ago now, and didn't believe it, but now that he actually is fighting Nelson and thats who they said he lost to i believe it.
I thought it was hilarious that he thought he was the "big announcement". Dudes fat as hell and thinks he's the f*cking sh*t or something. He wouldn't even take Greg Jackson's advice. I hope Kimbo KO's big country just to take him down a notch.
yeah no shit any body who refuses to listen to Greg is a moron......and did you hear his rant about havin different bags or some dumb sh*t? he thinks he is above GREG JACKSON'S trainin...come on now
P.S Anyone else surprised Rashad didn't throw Bredon Schaub in there with Kimbo.[/QUOTE]
I think Evans wants Roy off his team so hes feeding him to Kimbo
