Ultimate Fighter TVFor the eighth season, UFC Heavyweight Champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, and top heavyweight contender and former Champion, Frank Mir will train and coach fighters in the Lightweight and Light Heavyweight divisions.
The part where he destroys the door was the highlight of the episode for me, man that guy sure knows how to remove doors..
Having been through two court required, state approved anger management classes (don't judge me), I believe I have had a little experience in tearing down a door. The TUF door last night seemed to break away a bit too easy...kinda like a Hollywood prop. Rampage's foot when right through as did the initial punch...once right through...no shards wood or customary splintering, just chunks and pieces of no real substance...and no cuts on Rampage.
I'd think any gym dedicated arguably some of the most well conditioned athletes on the planet, would put a little more "oomph" in the construction and design...then maybe American workmanship really has significantly declined.

My thoughts exactly. He grabbed it and tore it like a piece of cardboard. I don't know about that door. I know Rampage is a big strong guy, but come on. I never have really understood punch or kicking doors, and have never actually done it myself, but I have seen people kick doors pretty fuckin hard, and they usually barely leave a dent. Rampage's foot went straight through.
It's an interior door and most interior doors are not solid. I have kicked through interior doors before...wasn't actually on hinges, just an old door we removed from a house and a buddy bet me some money I couldn't kick through it. Really wasn't that hard to be honest...the damn thing was hollow for God's sake, anyone with a good kick would have went through it.
Rampage does have some anger in him though. Too bad he won't get to release it all on Rashad.
Yup. That door was a prop no doubt. Re-watch it and look at the "construction" of the interior of that door - matter of fact, there doesn't seem to be an interior structure of the door... It's like cardboard or paper mache -- the pieces sort of float to the floor; they don't drop and clang on the floor like dense and solid materials would.

that is what the inside of an interior door looks like... they are not solid, fire rated. They contain corrogated cardboard. Rampage > wwwf staging bs.
actually most indoor doors are built like that. i actually used to work construction. it actually seems really solid after watching it slowly. ill tell you this even if that door was made out of chinese crap wood n dry wall Rampage is still one strong ass muthafucka. damn he bodied that door. it defently wasnt no prop, you can see the layering if u look close

The doors at my gym, workplace office, house, etc cetainly don't appear that light and flimsy, but I've never cut one up so I guess I'll have to take your word for it.
The door just seemed almost too paper light and the scene came across a bit hokey and contrived...

there is a thin layer of laminate that incases the carboard (which is for sound proofing). you find solid wood interior doors in older buildings (from before the 70s) but all new construction uses those doors where you don't need a fire door (between two suites, exterior/security doors, or something).
