Fighters gas out quick this season.....

is it me or are fighters gassing out quickly this season.

1:30 into the fight you see them huffing and puffing, like their heart is gonna explode. I know it takes more calories/vitamins/endurance for larger men to move around....but are these guys doing any cardio?

We have some big guys in our gym and some that are much bigger than these guys and they don't gass out that quick. I think it's just a matter of coming to the show unprepared and then not having enough time there to get prepared.

They are all like Bob Sapp.

Big people gas from the exertion of moving their own weight. Which is why they make terrible marathon runners. But as none of the fighters have moved much, I would have to assume the prob is fear - or missing supplements.

Obviously these guys are facing stiffer competition than what those at gyms we might be familier with. A lot of guys who gas in fights don't gas in the gym... it's a much different thing to be fighting than sparring/rolling. Moreover though, a bunch of these guys are football players. Football players play in 10 second bursts... condition for sprints, not 10-15 minutes of hell on the cardio.

That said, it is pretty annoying. Makes for some lackluster fights, again.

IDK about them facing tougher competition than we are used too. I train under Tim Credeur and I assure you he's tougher than all these guys. Most of his guys are MMA fighters and they are all tougher than these guys and they don't gas like these guys are. I think it's a simple fact of these guys just aren't that good. You can look at them training and tell they don't have that good of technique and their cardio is horrid.

I think a lot of them are carrying way too much weight for their frame. Like 80% of these dudes are chubby (not counting Nelson, his cardio is proven) to the point where they could move down a weight class or something.

nojoke1933 has a little shameless behaviour in the past
When your living in the moment of a fight, and you can't do anything but feed off your adrenaline.. when your big you over heat, Roy Nelson has been around so he goes in with the mind set of relaxed.

on the flip side

I'm a skinny fool & love to chess box with friends, since i am the skinny fool no matter who i fight they have at least 30+lbs on me. I get tired as hell after 2 min of not getting hit and punching, while my friends are fine b/c they don't have to move as much, so what i'm trying to say is, it depends how you wanna fight.

If i just bang with this big guy, I'll either get hit down, or be overpowered, but if i move a lot, jump in for a attack then jump out. at the end i'll win, it might be boring. but i didn't get hit
