idea for international TUFs
Last night Dana White said on mmajunkie radio that they are going to do 5-6 TUFs around the world.
In addition to the TUF we have now, I would love to see TUFs in different countries, as it would show how different cultures impact fighting around the world, such as different fighting styles and training.
All the TUFs (including the US one) would begin and end in the same 6 weeks. Each show would have their own finale where they would have their own "US champion" or "Brazilian champion" Then make the TUF champs fight each other. It would be like a "country vs country" thing, which they could promote with another UFC Primetime, where we get to really see how these cultures impact fighting and training.
The benefit of this is that Primetime comes back(!), there's something to watch between TUF seasons and the Primetime and "country vs country" card could be on a TV network and hopefully it will have the same effect as TUF season 1 with even more exposure.
I think having many TUF champs every season would lower the prestige of being a TUF winner. Finding a favorable opponent for the TUF winner is already difficult, now x6. Through TUF champs fighting each other, they get better, their fight is free on tv so less of a risk than if it were on a PPV main card and by the time they get on PPV they will have been exposed to a lot of people.
I imagine Primetime to be 3-4 episodes with each one highlighting a matchup, showing especially stuff like "running the rock" from BJ's. It combined unique things like the beaches of Hawaii with fighting, in this case, cardio training.
