Why didnt they just audition real fighters this season???

I see the star power in Kimbo....but some of these ex-NFL players and washed up UFC "veterans" could have sat the season out. There are pleeeenty MMA fighters from California to Maine (Puerto Rico is slowly gettin hip to MMA also) signed in lower level organizations dying just to get auditioned and they bring in people like Wes Sims and Wes Shivers???

smh

Dana...you and the Fertitta boys need to spend your money wisely.

Well Kimbo was the real ratings pull actually. Someone here posted the ratings figures recently and they all spiked around Kimbo, thats why they kept suggesting he may return to fight in the next episode cause people would tune in with hope to see him. Hopefully in the next season they'll focus more on talent and less on ratings. Although, saying that, I've become a fan of Kimbo since TUF 10.

IDK if I'm a fan, but the more I see of his humility and sense of humor, the more I like him.

Ratings will always be first priority. It'd be great if a middle ground were established somehow on that point.

I kinda have to agree. How is it possible for someone WITHOUT an MMA record to be on this show? The guys should AT LEAST have had some fights before the show. And how come guys like Neil Grove are not on the show? They made Roy Nelson sign a contract, so why not more fighters of his caliber? Instead they have ex-NFL guys without any credentials except that they're big.

Exactly! He's so humble and willing to learn and clearly just into being the best MMA fighter he can be. Obviously he has a long way to go, but he turned me from thinking he's just some street fighter thug into thinking he's the real deal.

Cause real fighters are mature and committed athletes who would want to take full advantage of the opportunities which would make for great fights but little drama to fill the rest of the hour.

In San Diego, Brandon Vera co owns a gym called "City Boxing"...there are TONS of Brazilian dudes who would many a make quick work out of 95% of the fighters this season. Matter of fact Shane Carwin's biggest test so far was a man named Rick Slayton (San Diego)...he lost to Carwin, but he's the only person Ive seen go knee-for-knee in the clinch with Carwin

wtf is Wes Sims doing??? Isnt he about 40 by now? Still trying to bring back the good ol days of pyrotechnics and lame bar room fighters?

"Moobs" just doesn't have the ring that "titties" does, though.
