I think that Michael Johnson really has a lack of submission defense, but with his strength and wrestling, St. Pierre could teach him to be more patient and to basically look to control fighters with good guards, rather than to make mistakes and perhaps be overly aggressive and get caught. I'm guessing by his record that he tends to make mistakes when taking fighters down. St. Pierre is a good coach for him because we all know that St. Pierre is the best at controlling opponents on the ground in the welterweight division.
