i didnt say i thought losing to aldo meant hed win. i said that it has been mentioned that taking aldo into round 3 is a good indication of experience and quality compared to some of the other guys in that house.

go back and read your question.

then read my answer

and think about it
You should try actually WATCHING the fight instead of just looking at his Wikipedia page and acting as though you know what you're talking about. That fight was completely one sided and Brookins did nothing besides 1 takedown.

If you want to say he's going to win because he has better takedowns or better submissions etc then fine but simply stepping into the same cage as Jose Aldo doesn't make you the better fighter.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

what are you looking for a fight or something?

you asked why ppl might think he could win and i told you.

you didnt even ask what i thought and i havent even told you so dont assume you know the first friggin thing about me.

if you actually read your own posts you would realise that.

i simply answered your question.

ive heard a lot of ppl cite that fight as part of the rationale for backing him so i told you.

also, acting like taking jose aldo into round 3 isnt impressive is ridiculous. name the best guy any of those other guys have even faced.

all we hear is how your man is the bjj trainer of matt hughes. but his mma record is won 12 lost 6 and the best people hes ever faced are Spencer Fisher and Bart Palaszewski who ko'd him in 25 seconds and 30 seconds respectively, although i doubt youd actually know who they are. his last two fights he lost in round 1 to no name fighters and he has been ko'd 3 times and decisioned 3 times.

brookins is 11-3 and has never been subbed. hes only ever been stopped once and that was by jose friggin aldo. im not saying he cant lose but hes beaten Luis Palomino, Jose Figueroa and Yves Jabouin. hes ko'd 2 people, subbed 8 and decisioned 1.

that hardly makes him the underdog does it?!

take it or leave it, but if you are gonna ask for help and then give it, then take it somewhere else son.

Kyle Watson has been overrated this season in my opinion. Someone said him and Brookins are the best fighters in the semi finals. To say him and Brookins are the best fighters in the semi finals is slightly off in my opinion. How does having a 12-6-1 record make you a favorite? It's been said that two decent fighters that he has faced have finished him in under a minute. He has faced some unknown fighters and lost his share of time as well. Brookins is one of the best fighters in the house and I don't think that Watson will give him that much trouble. Brookins should be able to coast to a convincing win here if I had to guess.

While I'm on the subject, I'd like to see Phan vs. Watson. Phan is a BJJ black belt that has never been submitted so I highly doubt that Watson would be finishing him with a submission. On the feet, Phan should easily have the advantage and perhaps get to show off some body punches while he is at it. Also throw in his experience and I would actually make Phan a favorite to beat Watson.

Brookins on the other hand, would give Phan a lot of trouble with his wrestling. I'm hoping that this is the finale because they both have good tools that would make for an exciting fight.

Phan has to get through Johnson first though, which is no easy task. I'm thinking that Phan will be able to take the fight in the later rounds with his superior conditioning, but we will see.

Brookins vs. Johnson would be an okay fight, but I would make Brookins a huge favorite with his superior wrestling and conditioning. At least Phan presents problems with his great hands, BJJ, and experience.

My guesses on who wins the semi finals are Brookins and Phan, and I hope that Phan wins the finale, but I'll have to pick Brookins to win it all at the moment. It should be entertaining.

Top 3 Favorite Fighters
1. Chuck "The Iceman" Liddell
2. Glover Teixeira
3. Demian Maia

It's all good Alpha, Watson showed a lot in that fight, but he can't win decisions with defense.

True that. He needs to create more of an offense rather than just trying to defend what his opponent is doing and hope for a submission opening.

Assuming they give him a second chance, I see him winning a few prelims but choking once he gets a step up in competition.
