I have never had an MMA fight but got 50+ boxing fights under my belt as an amateur and i find it hard to believe anyone who has fought competitively in any contact sport can say that the fight is the hardest part. Either that or it is someone who has prepared awfully, like UFC_OWNS says its the reward at the end of what should be an agonising training regime.

Anyways that wasn't the point JDS was making. He was saying fighting is easy when compared to having to be in social situations that took him out of his comfort zone - I can relate to that.

I don’t train. I quit at age 43 because chronic neck and shoulder injuries were preventing me from working. Before that I trained for 5 years.

When I trained we had Friday night sparring every week. There was no distinction between size or skill level, if you showed up you fought whoever needed a partner.

The first time I went to spar, as I was getting ready I watched a guy who was about 6-3 and 250lbs sparring with a much smaller and less skilled partner. The little guy kept ducking in an awkward way and the big guy kept telling him “don’t duck you’ll get kicked in the head”. After a few more times, he kicked him in the head and knocked him out for a long time. As they were trying to wake him, the head coach came in and started to give the big guy a hard time. “You didn't need to hit him that hard”. “ I didn’t coach I kicked him”. “You kicked him in the head”? “Yes sir” “AWSOME!! your kicks are really improving!!”

Then to me - “ get your ass in ther the big guy needs a partner.”

I was scared shitless but, I didn’t duck once.

While I was training I got KO’d 3 times. Twice by the same 6’-5” 210lb (skinny as a stick) 21 year old monster. First time by a RHK that I blocked with perfect technique. the 2nd by a straight right when I was rushing in to avoid that dreaded kick.

We had a lot of visits from real fighters and I’m pretty sure we trained like they did.

I’ve had 40+ fights but, none with a referee or a camera.

I don’t expect y’all to believe a word. I’m just a troll.

Back onto the JDS TUF topic guys please

I wondered how JDS was going to manage on TUF with the language barrier, it must of been pretty hard for him. Huge respect to sticking with it and doing as much as he could. I can imagine it was extremely frustrating when he couldn't communicate 100% with his team.

I love JDS's broken english and i think it is obviously something he is working on which you can't say for all the brazilian fighters.

Langauge barrier or no language barrier i think he is gonna wind up with the majority of the fighters getting through to the latter stages of the show - His coaching team is just a million miles ahead of Brock's.

You do realize that guys like Anderson Silva and Nog are more training partners than coaches right? Brock has some of the best coaches that money can buy. Don't let big named fighter fool you into thinking they are great coaches.

Not at all. Dos Santos will bring in the Blackhouse trainers Luiz Dorea who is one of the best boxing coaches in MMA and he has said he has had Big Nog, lil Nog and Damien Maia rolling with his guys alongside Jorge Guimaraes.
He has Rogerio Camoes on conditioning too which is no bad thing.

Lesnar has decent coaches but most of them are wrestling based as expected, only Rodrigo Medeiros is a genuine BJJ guy and Peter Welch is a decent boxing coach but no better than Luiz Dorea.

I think that is the key here, he found it hard in the house socially.

Im still not budging on my stand point on fighting Vs Training but i can also agree and relate to what you mentioned.

The article has nothing to do with training, it is about the language barrier that he had while doing the show, did you read the article at all?
