TUF was harder for Junior dos Santos than actually fighting.

Pretty awesome interview from the Brazilian. It's crazy to think what he had to go through coaching 7 guys and dealing with the camera crews in English when it isn't his main language. Can't wait for this season of TUF though. Should be good.

"It was harder than being on the octagon, I was more anxious. It was a different kind of feeling, but I was nervous. On the beginning I didn’t know how to communicate, because it’s hard if you don’t domain a language of a show on which everybody speaks that language, so you’re obligated to speak it because they can only speak English. It was a challenge that demanded a lot from me. I was scared at first that I wouldn’t do it. But, as I told you, after few days I’ve started to think straight, do things right and then everything came naturally. There were times on which I didn’t know how to express what I wanted to say and there were times I didn’t understand what they were saying me, but most of what has been said by me or them, on the house, we understood, so it was good." - Junior dos Santos

The Brazilian slugger admitted that he was plenty nervous while filming for The Ultimate Fighter, in an interview with TATAME.

Junior dos Santos, a native of Brazil, let the fans know that taping The Ultimate Fighter was a real challenge, mainly because of the language barrier. While giving instructions to fighters and providing interviews to the crew, there simply wasn't enough time for translators to be with "Cigano" every single step of the way. The heavyweight was forced to learn on the fly.

Santos found a way to get things done and is eager to see how the American public reacts to their first true exposure to him. He believes that the opportunity to be front in center will do great things for his visibility and his career.

After the season is completed, dos Santos will square off with Brock Lesnar at UFC 131 in June. The winner of the bout has been guaranteed the first crack at Cain Velasquez and his heavyweight title once he returns from shoulder surgery.

JDS is my favorite heavy weight. I like his style, but I like that he worked hard to overcome the language barrier (prior to TUF). This is a different kind of toughness.

You didn't read the article at all.

And if you knew anything about MMA you'd know the fight is the easiest part of the entire job. 1-25mins of fighting versus 5-8 hours a day of being exhausted, sore, bloody, puking, drenched in sweat - for months at a time.

If i knew anything about MMA id know that the fight is the easiest part...............

Yea because getting hit in the head or rag dolled is very easy compared with training and sparring........

You my friend are a sucker of cliché , do you really think Rich Franklin thinks now that the training was way harder than getting my ass beat Anderson Silva........ yea good one.

If you knew how much it hurts to get hit or how soul destroying it is to get dominated then you wouldnt say its easier to be in the fight than train.

I'm not gonna debate such a ridiculous topic with you. If training isn't the hardest part of your routine then your routine is lacking considerably, period.

I know its ridiculous , saying training in a gym with no worries and sparring knowing you wont be KO'ed is the hardest part then yea its ridiculous.

Sure guys can train hard and it can gruelling , but to say its easier to be punched in the face is nonsense.

I don't think MMA fighters except Brock Lesnar are anywhere near as bothered about getting hit as you're implying. Most guys love to get in there, it's what they work and strive for and the fight is the fun part. Yes getting demolished by A.Silva isn't going to be a good night but on the whole, I think most fighters will agree the fight is the best bit.

Either you don't train at all and are guessing at what it's like .... or perhaps you gym looks like this.
