Plus they were both kicking to the left and JDS was on the right side of the goal post. But Brock missing the Octagon a bunch of times was kind of sad. Even though he wasn't a QB you would think he could throw a football a little better.

Throwing a ball through a hoop from 20 yards out is pretty tough. Plus you could tell he was rushing a bit because he fell behind in the kicking.

Interesting first round. will be interesting to see how it goes. Chris really shut Shamar down in the wrestling department.

I'm guessing that they gave chris octagon control because of the failed takedown attempts? I'm no fan of Shamar, but that decision was quite surprising.

I'm glad Chris won because you need to get credit for continually stuffing takedowns. I didn't give Shamar much for octagon control as opposed to failed takedowns.

Shamar is terrible at striking. The fists thrown were the equivalent of thai push kicks. Only, instead of taking advantage of an opening, he clinched against the cage.

Chris may have won, but I lost watching that fight.

And I agrees w/ Jeter Sucks. You have to give him credit for stuffing the takedowns. Although, judges suck 9/10 of the time, so I thought Shamar would have won.

Chris did great stuffing those repeated TDs. Shamar is a one trick pony
