i actually wouldnt if i had dominant positions against a useless grappler, realistically he could have kimured,armbarred,arm triangles and rear naked choked him but he chose not to commit

I think I picked Shamar to win it but he's crappy. The guy whose attitude pissed me off was the dude with the pink tie during the intros.
Later on he was wearing backwards sunglasses and was (I believe) the same one yelling "I'm home" from the balcony. He's gonna be hated  |

If he wins the whole thing then yeah its a good strategy. But they can deny him a contract if he doesn't win the whole show. UFC often time keeps the more exciting TUF fighters even if they don't win the show but if your boring then they won't. Plus they used to give money for finishing the TUF fights. I don't recall them saying this season but I would think they were still doing it.

It really looks like this is going to be the worst season ever  I am not gonna watch this show anymore! When I see a guy like that german dude, who has zero grappling ability and zero striking ability.. that says more than thousand words
Also to put such a nice guy like JDS in there with Brock showed it doesn't make any sense. |

Whilst true... would you then claim to have held back? I dont mind the dude taking as little damage as possible and winning the fight. Just like yourself, I would do the same. However, to then claim people haven't seen my arsenal? No. Thats wanker talk. I'm already looking forward to seeing him lose. |

Hi guys,
as a german guy, I'm of course dissapointed, that the german fighter didn't make it to the next round.
I saw it coming, you know, in Germany we're not learning wrestling in Highschool like you Americans do. That is of course a big advantage.
But at least, he couldn't finish him even though he mounted him twice, that was not impressing at all.
I'm so glad that the new season started, I'm a big fan..let's hope that there will be some more exciting fights.

If i was Shamar i would have done my upmost to finish that guy. The first fight of the season, i wanna set an example to follow. I want the other 13 fighters to look at my fight and think 'shit that guys good'.
Right now the other guys are not thinking this..

episode 1 - Shamar wins unimpressively over a relatively unknown german fighter who is jetlagged, doesn't speak english well enough to understand his corner's advice, and starts thinking he's the biggest thing in MMA since Kimbo Slice.
