I agree, but here's the thing...

If you were an accomplished fighter with lots of wins outside of the UFC, would you really consider going on TUF? I sure as hell wouldn't. It's got a real bad stigma nowadays and I doubt any good fighter would want to be on TUF. [To this day I still believe they handpicked Nelson to be on TUF just so they could make sure Kimbo wouldn't win the whole thing.]

Even the winner is screwed in my view. When I hear Bruce Buffer announce the "TUF Season whatever winner" my mind goes "Not another one of those...".

What they need to do is get actual prospects on there, Jon Jones, Rory MacDonald, Charles Oliveria, those kind of guys, that's what TUF is all about.

The last good season was the Heavyweight one, it got a lot of flack due to bad fights but it produced some alright guys, Nelson, Schaub, Madsen, Mitrione are all in the UFC now.
Exactly! It's sad really..

The coaches are almost always very special, but the fighters Ohhh please..

There is really no talent left in the USA or Canada it seems like.. as sad as this might be, maybe they do not try out I don't know at least they do not appear on the Show after all.

They should finally go outside and move that Cage around the Globe. Dana wants to make this sport WorldWide and TUF is the perfect enviornment to do so.

Dana already talked about this, he wants to put TUF on in other countries and then the winners in each country would then go into like a new TUF for a big finale, or even just do a tournament.

It wasn't even that.

They actually had a lot of great guys try out.

Amossou tried out, Galvao, Lopez from Wand's team, and various others.

They are just utterly incompetent at picking fighters for it.

I mean seriously, I've seen videos of the first thing they do is a 2 minute grappling session, they give 1000 dollars to anyone who gets a sub, and they make cuts right after that without them showcasing any wrestling or striking.

Tyrone Woodley tried out a few years ago too.

Obviously they know how to get prospects, they're just not putting them on TUF, maybe a Strikeforce TUF would be in the works one day, or maybe it's time a comeback edition, something needs to change though.

Bisping/Sonnen coaching though would be the quick fix, people love good trash talking and they'd sure get it with those two.

SpikeTV gets the final say on who goes on the show, the UFC just gives them their opinions. Spike only picks to make the show draw good, get people who have big personalities, this show would do so much better if they brought in real prospects.

Wouldn't be so sure tbqh.

They've been letting so many slip away to Bellator and formerly SF it's hard to say.

back to TE, i did watch the first season back when it was on Mtv, and Daniel Puder was on it, was awesome watching him go on Smackdown and chalenge Kurt Angle. Angle got a takedown and Puder slapped on a wicked Kimura and was about to snap his arm when the ref realised it and did a quick 3 count declaring Angle the winner. awesome times. i know Daniel Puder logs on here now and again, hope hes sees this, that was awesome Daniel!!!!

Its more popular for a pretty basic reason among the uneducated (in the sport) masses.

The guys on Tough Enough look like action figures. (Also Austin is an icon in "Sports Entertainment")

This season, the guys on TUF look like those whom the action figures save.
