Obviously TUF needs some work. Does anyone think that the UFC should stop wasting money on guys, 90% of whom will probably do nothing in the sport or even crack the top 5?

Throwing this out there....why not change TUF to a already UFC prospects show. Think basically a tournament for a title shot(i.e TUF 4) or at least a way to clean out some of the muck at the lower end of the roster.

Think about it, better fights, possibly bigger names and then you tip the odds that the winner will actually make some noise in the UFC and sell PPVs, which is the ultimate goal.

Think about what something like that could do for the logjam at the top of the LW division right now.

Yea i think that would be a good idea, with the fight at the end of the episode live every week.

The problem is that TUF means nothing now, all the better prospects go straight to the UFC without going in TUF which leaves TUF with guys that are much less skilled compared to the early TUF's. If it was like the early TUF's where it meant something, you'd have a lightweight season for example with recent prospect signee's such as Barboza, Oliveira, Makdessi, Sass etc.

For the reason above, i think it is beyond repair. I still find it enjoyable and i can see it continueing for a long time and its a good way for those who would never normally be looked at by UFC a chance to make it to the big time. But i don't think winning it will ever mean as much as it once did.

Really like the idea of the Live fight every week. Dana White is always talking about trying to get the UFC on every weekend.

They are in desperate need for a comeback season, or maybe an "All Star" season with the 155lbs where they have 14 quality guys that could be both good TV and jump start some decent fighters careers again.

Dana, Miller and Bisping all tweeted like two hours ago that the fights to get into the house are "******* CRAZY"... That alone has be pumped up.

I always say the shows would be better MMA wise if they got rid of the 'house' stuff. Just showed fights and training. Watching the MMA tourney is the only reason I watch anyway. If they didn't worry about house drama, and just signed the 16 or so best fighters they could without worrying about tv personalities it would rock. There would still be enough 'drama' for Spike in the training facility, especially with Bisping and Mayhem. Hey, I can dream.

They should give coaches more time to work with fighters and develop them. 6 weeks isn't enough time. The best fighters who walk into the house are almost always the ones who walk out with the win. Its not necessarily about coaching, as who was lucky enough to make the right picks at the beginning.

I used to feel that way until this last TUF. Lesnar's fighters showed real improvement from fight to fight.

TUF is still a reality show and I am sure they know at the screenings that most are not up to par. In fact they are chosen for the lack of skills and such so that the audience can really see some progression.
