Bisping vs Miller will be five rounds

Not only will Ultimate Fighter 14 coaches Michael Bisping and Jason Miller meet on the Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale event rather than on PPV, but they’ll do so in a five-round fight. The event is scheduled to go down on December 3 at the Pearl at the Palms in Las Vegas, Nevada and will air live on SpikeTV.
UFC sent out a press release earlier today confirming the details.
TUF 14 marks only the second time that the coaches will square off on free TV rather than the usual PPV event with the first being TUF 5 when BJ Penn and Jens Pulver fought on SpikeTV as well. However, this will be the first time that two coaches will be involved in a five-round fight that wasn’t for a UFC championship. Earlier this year, UFC declared that all main events, both title and non-title, would be 25-minute affairs starting with Chris Leben vs. Mark Munoz at UFC 138.
Winner of TUF 3, “The Count” has never competed in a 25-minute bout while “Mayhem” went five rounds with Jake Shields in November 2009, losing a unanimous decision in a Strikeforce middleweight title contest. The victor will be in the mix to fight middleweight champion Anderson Silva.
Bisping has won three straight bouts and is 7-2 at middleweight while Miller is in a two fight win streak and has only been defeated twice in his last ten contests.

As a fight fan, I'm all about 5 round Main Events. Not only do you get more entertainment, but the outcome is usually more conclusive.
What it can do for fighters is, give contenders experience in 25 minute fights. When they do get that shot at the title they go into with the confidence of knowing they can compete for the duration of the fight. Even if the fight does not go the full 25, there are still physical and psychological advantages acquired through training for it.

Not sure if that will affect the outcome or not. Both guys have great cardio.

A 5 rounder will really be a asset to Bisping, im stating now that Bisping wins this fight by the 4th

I would say it benefits Miller since the most likely early finish would be from him submitting Bisping and this gives him more time to make that happen. |

The only difference this might make is that it gives Bisping more of a chance to stop miller. Bisping does not have very good power in any of is strikes, but im sure the cumulative effect can really slow a guy down somewhere during the middle of the fourth or the beginning of the fifth. I still think this fight is a bit of a toss up, but it def favors Bisping if he can keep it standing. Keep in mind, Miller was getting outstruck by Jacare in their last meeting, he isnt that great on his feet. Not terrible, but a notch or two below Bisping.

Favours Bisping imo. Endless cardio and is far more technical standing. I don't think Miller will be able to get him down often, if at all.
Really hoping for a Miller win, but just don't see him being able to pull it off.

I'm surrpised people actually think Bisping will beat Miller let alone some people even think he'll finish him. The guys who couldn't finish Mayhem are miles above Bispings talents such as Jacare,GSP,Shields,Sonnen and Kennedy. Thats an impressive list of guys who can't finish Mayhem. People think a 5 rounder suits Bisping?Bisping has 6 decisions while Miller has 9
