The most expensive and cheap console's ever!

Found this to be really interesting. The most expensive consoles when inflation is took into account.

No wonder the 3DO was such flop, besides from being shit, it was also crazy expensive!

Why I didn't buy a PS3 is now starting to comeback to me. That thing was freaking expensive. $600.00, were they out of their damn minds. Funny how the roles are reversed this time around with Sony and Microsoft. I don't remember the 3DO or NeoGeo at all. Looking at those prices I can see why.

I often hear about how consoles are so expensive and how costly games are for the content you get in "today's gaming". You would be amazed how many people that are like "$60 for 8-10 hours of gameplay, are you mad?" but fail to realize that SNES games ranged from $40 all the way up to $80, and you'd get 2 hours of gameplay out of them before beating it, sometimes less than that.

Game content/depth/bang for your bank has increased dramatically for a set price that is actually cheaper than many games that released back in the 80s/90s, and consoles are in the same basic price range as well.

At the time the NeoGeo was a beast, but the games were as over-priced as the console.

Having the NeoGeo was like having an Arcade machine in your room. A lot of the arcade machines from that era had NeoGeo's inside them, so people thought they were playing custom arcades, but in fact it was just a console inside the cabinet; you really couldn't tell the difference though, they were that good at the time.

Only problem with them was that most people could not afford them.

I am kind of surprised the NeoGeo cost a little bit more. Though the 3DO probably stands out more in my mind for being overpriced because it was so shitty.

I only knew one person with 3D0 and a Neo-Geo system. I'd play Samuraii Showdown with the joystick. Graphics were superb! Out of the entire list I don't remember Intellivision or Jaguar.

Flash from the past!

I'll wreck anybody on Golden Eye. Any stage, any weapons. These days I play a few games from time to time, but nothing like back then. Too many hours invested...haha.

The Jaguar was a broken piece of crap. It claimed to be a 64 bit system but was actually a 32 bit system. The controller is a 10 digit keypad and the system was prone to freezing. The Jaguar CD was so poorly designed that the lid would actually close to tightly and prevent the CD from spinning and damaging it in the process.

Fun fact about the Jaguar. Some Dental company actually bought the Atari Jaguar molding plates and used them to encase some kind of dental camera.
