GTA V - The most expensive Video Game in History (by far)

Just thought I share this.

In fact, GTA 5 cost so much more to produce than any other video game ever, its probably better to compare it to how much movies cost to produce.

As you can see, not only does GTA 5 blow all video games away, but if it was a movie it would be the second most expensive movie to produce, ever.

Thats pretty sick.

It costs a lot but I'll probably get bored of it about half way through. In fact I'm cancelling it from gamefly so I can co-op it on PC when that comes out as it'll at least keep my interest all the way through with co-op.

I ordered it for PS3, maybe we are being pessimistic but I think i'll get bored too. The PS2 GTA's were all flawless and fun and had cool stories imo.

I've already said there is no way it performs well. It will sell but I'm betting the gameplay is generally just not great.

Not pessimistic, GTA games are fun but the problem is it's the 5th in the series and unlike some series like TES/FF and a few others that stretch the series far, you drive around in generic cities and do mob/criminal missions (every single game without variation between entries), and the whole "I'm a criminal in a city" theme is just very played out and straight up boring to me at this point.

The game will be good on a technical level, it's just tiresome for me. But Co-op will make it more fun as co-op makes any game more fun. That's not to say that other series like TES/FF don't make other people tire of them, it's all just how much you like a theme/game style, and GTA just isn't my thing (unless co-op hopefully).

Well I think GTA jumped the shark as soon as GTA IV was released, the graphics bored me, they went for realism over fun ten fold. All the missions now had zero variety in it like the PS2 ones, and the story and radio weren't funny or entertaining or interesting at all.

GTA vice city and liberty city stories and vice city stories etc have so much replay value I can always play them. I sold GTA IV and the only reason why I bought a backwards compatible PS3 on ebay was to play the old GTA's. Just my Opinion but that's how I think of it.

This. I cannot stand this in games these days. Games want to be more like movies and then fail to produce the fun/game factor. If I want to watch a movie I'll watch a movie. I play games for crazy worlds/gameplay, I want to dive into a world with crazy stuff going on. I can't stand games that try for realism over gameplay/fun.

I mean "realism" isn't a bad thing so long as the core of the game is designed around being a game, which means gameplay. GTA4 was about driving around in your boring ass car around a boring ass city while you talk on your phone and browse the internet. There were a few rare interesting missions but for the most part the game just wasn't any good.

I don't expect GTA5 to change that, at least not enough to hold my interest passed the half way mark without a buddy playing through it with me.

Exactly and if I want realism I won't play video games i'll go outside. Realism is only good in video games if it's something that need's to be realistic like a boxing game or a gran turismo game or something.

And regarding the radio again in GTA IV and episodes from liberty city there were no good or classic songs and the talk radio sucked, in GTA vice city and vice city stories they have VCPR and pressing issues which was hilarious among other funny ads on the radio and shows. And everyone of the games had great songs in every variety.
