Looks decent. But I probably won't drop 70 dollars on it. Maybe it's me, but I don't see much progression from the initial game. Not as much as expected anyway.

Realism > flashiness. I hope they were just emphasizing on kicks to get us excited for that element of the game. I personally like realism as much as possible.

My biggest gripe would be the over acted strikes. If someone is wincing from a body shot, they're probably going to get stopped soon in real life. The majority of shots in this, and EA MMA, has the guy buckling from every kick.

Also, the focus is 100% on striking. They are looking for the novelty of making it a fun game, not making it a realistic and technical game. I liked the complexity of the ground game in UFC Undisputed. I was like 100-10 online before I even mastered striking from the bottom. A lot of learning curve. It's not the case at all in EA UFC/MMA.

I agree with Life on the roster too. Why not put every single guy they can think of in the game? Put in EVERY legend. Gary Goodridge, Pat Smith, Kimo, Ken Shamrock, Randy Couture etc. etc. Then, you've got the contract to every single current UFC fighter, so tell them you're putting them in. I mean EVERYONE too. Offer free updates for every fighter who goes 1-0 joining UFC. Like in packs. Offer DLC for some of the legends.

Also, put in Strikeforce, WEC, WFA, UFC and Pride with full or as close as possible likeness. Add in UFC Fight Night commentators too.

EA redirected their Fight Night team to this. So where is out Ultimate Fighter - UFC Legend storyline like Champion had?

Sooooo much I'd want to add to these games. I don't understand the EA team on this and Fight Night at all. Fight Night had FOUR light heavyweight fighters. WHAT?

Doesn't look much different to EA MMA.

You cannot yet make a realistic MMA game, it is simply impossible. It's not like football or rugby which can be simulated relatively easily. Basically you have a formation and you must maneuver past another formation. That's basically chess, which is easily simulated. It's not like golf or snooker games where you choose power, spin, direction then just hit a ball.

Most sports are either very strategy based, or turn based. Fighting is much more instinctual, you repeatedly drill skills and strategies but once you are in the cage, you are on your own and it is up to you to apply those skills on the fly, even choose to go against your training if necessary.

IMO MMA cannot be done justice on current gaming systems. It might be possible on whatever mad stuff gets invented in the future, but by the look of this video gamers are still having to spam strikes or be randomly knocked out/submitted when they try to fight more methodically.

PS4 might be fab but it cannot mimic the human mind, body and soul.

Ugh. The game itself looks beautiful but the gameplay looks awful. They move far too quickly and the striking overall just looks bad. There's no reaction to being hit aside from leg kicks, and those are way too exaggerated. It's like the strikes aren't even landing half the time.

And why'd they suddenly make it so Rogan and Goldie only talk when something is happening? In the other games, they'd always talk about random things in between the action.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

EA MMA was such an underrated game. Beautiful graphics and great mechanics so I don't expect any different from this game however, I have to agree once the fight started it went from ultra-realistic to wtf. I don't know why they're throwing strikes so fast, it makes it look to cartoony.
