Anyone excited for Inglorious Bastar--I mean Wolfenstein?

The new Wolfenstein is coming out in May. I never really played any of the Wolfenstein games but I will say the trailers for this one does peek my interests. It does seem to have an Inglorious Bastards feel to it where promises to be awesome and ridiculous at the same time. I might pick this one up. Just curious what you guys thought of the franchise as a whole and if you think this title will be any good?

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

Wolfenstein was one of the first truly awesome FPS back in the late 90's. That and Doom made me ask myself why I game on a console instead of a PC. There have been a few more in the series, but by then WW2 games were so common that they weren't hugely popular like the original. If it's coming out for PC, I will get it though I haven't played a WW2 FPS for a few years now and it's time.

The game series dates back to before Tarantino was doing anything other than slinging tapes at the local video store. The trailer is a little cinema-ish but isn't that how all game trailers look these days? They actually hire outside studios to make them and they often have little to do with the game except thematically. If you are concerned, buy Return to Castle Wolfenstein for the like... five bucks or whatever it goes for now and see what the gameplay is like. I assume it will be the same but with better graphics, some updated conventions, that type of thing.

I'd kind of be interested if they make a throwback Wolfinstien. A graphically simple but chaotic content rich arcade shooter with similar characteristics to the original but with the developable capacity far beyond with a modern programming ceiling.

I like MMA less because of this forum

The gameplay in the trailer looks absolutely over the top and ridiculous. I LOVE IT. Hope there is a coop because I don't like playing shooters of any kind in single player.

oh yeah, the original Wolfenstein was the best back in the day! I remember also having a ripoff of it where you played on a space station, but the levels and look were basically exactly the same as Wolfenstein.

Fedor, Mir, Lytle, Serra, Hendo, Chuck, Minowaman, Maynard, Forrest, Hunt
Pickett, Cerrone, Matt Brown, Bisping, Weidman, Barnett, Lawler

That was Blake Stone, and the reason it looked the same is that the company licensed the same Wolf3D engine for it I really liked it honestly.
