Most Disappointing Games of 2014
Just to clarify, this isn't the Worst games of 2014 thread. We'll make a separate list for those bad boys. This thread is focusing on some of the most disappointing games. Meaning you didn't find the game to be bad but you were expecting a lot more. So with out further adieu..
Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zero's
This game has all the makings of a Triple A title. Gameplay is fun, frame rate is smooth, graphics are great. The problem- The main story is an hour long. That's right, people paid $30.00 for a game that can be finished in an hour or less. If you were expecting a good story and character development then be prepare to be disappointed. You know those awesome boss battles MGS is known for--yeah, they're not here. For you to actually get your money's worth you would have to milk every nook and cranny in this game. There is nothing here to justify that $30.00 price tag.
Elder Scrolls Online
They made the Elder Scrolls into an MMO. Because this is an MMO that means your wallets are going to get raped HARD. You spend $60.00 for the game plus an editional $15.00 per month. But the raping doesn't stop there. For instance, considering how huge this world is its preferable to get a horse. To get a good one will cost you 42,000 gold pieces. You can collect gold pieces throughout the game but here is the killer. Each enemy you kill only drops 1 gold piece. If you defeat a boss it is worth 2 gold pieces. So to buy a horse you have to kill 42,000 enemies OR spend $20.00 of your money to buy the collector's edition upgrade that includes the horse. Besides the wallet **** the ESO is dull and empty experience.
With a game that had a $500,000,000 budget and has Peter Dinklage as your guide people expected a lot with this title. We all expected a game with a deep and satisfying story. Instead, we are left scratching are heads as we are given no explanation as to the events that is going on. Not only that but the game can get super repetitive as you fight the same waves of enemies over and over again. The loot system can be completely random and unsatisfying. I can bust my ass and get more precision kills then the other guy and still end up with jack shit. Worse let the other guy could be rewarded with something extremely cool despite his game play. WTF! Borderlands is a more satisfying experience then this. You'll get loot galore with that game. Destiny on the other hand can be a frustrating experience. The sad part is you'll keep going back for more because even with all the problems you are still having fun.
What are your most games disappointing games this year?
You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam
