UFC: Undisputed (the video game)

Anyone know much about this game we've been waiting for, how long, three years?

I know it comes out in May and that GSP is on the cover...that's about it.

There is actually quite a bit of discussion on this in the MMA video game forum.

Forrest is on the cover for the US and GSP for Canada.

This should probably be in the MMA Video Games section.

I'm going to Montreal this weekend to cover this game at the THQ preview event. I'm pumped to see the game in action and talk to some fighters and developers.

A demo for 360 and PS3 is supposed to be out this week by the way.

They pushed the demo back, and haven't given a date. The messageboards there are pretty much saturated with people going crazy about the demo. Not much info there. Game sites like ign.com and gamespot.com have better vids, and one even has a controller tutorial which is the only useful vid so far. The rest usually give vague descriptions of styles or are eye candy.

I'm dying to play this game.

Hey, right after I posted this they released a demo date for next Thursday. Ha, I finally posted about it on the right forum. So next Thursday is the demo for sure. Oh yeah, the demo is being released for both XBox 360 and PS3 on that date.

I haven't played the demo yet, and even though I've only really heard positive things for the game, but the game just seems so... THQ-y. Jerky fighting animations, decent models, but strange modeling for heads and weird body texturing. The fight damage looks really good, as does the sweat. The game seems really arcade like.

I mean the game isn't out yet and I haven't played it and though though I'm giving criticism, I'm very excited for it. I will be getting the demo the day. Honestly though, THQ doesn't have the license for the UFC for that much longer, only enough time to make one more game. I hope EA picks up the game. I believe they could give a good re-haul on the game. Improve graphics, sound, gameplay, animations, everything. Not to mention the gigantic pockets that EA has. Because the current state for the game reminds me too much of their wrestling games, how they punch, graphics, everything for the most part.

They even had totally different team(Supposedly) working on this, and it's still reminiscent of them. I liked the wrestling games in the past by them, but I just don't want it for this game.

But I'm honestly hoping for the best, as this game will probably still be really fun, just not so much of the realism that I was hoping for.
