I have been playing it for a few days. Pretty enjoyable on the whole, only complaints are mostly minor ones.

For their first effort I think it is going to be very good, all the minor errors can be perfected for 2010. It was important that this version got the gameplay right so I can forgive it for things like;

Gumsheild always flying out for every KO
Ref waves the fight off from a distance
Judges scores displayed before Buffer announces them
No head movement
Too many strikes thrown, could be a little more elusive
Too many flash KOs in round 3 they are a certainty
Corner advice is useless and repetative

At first on the easiest difficulty setting you will find it a bit rock 'em sock 'em. Once you crank it up to experienced and advanced you will find yourself fighting more tactically and it becomes more realistic.

Funny thing happened to me, when i first got the demo i did all of the tutorial before i attempted one fight.

20 minutes of learning and i was ready to go, all excited i pick Shogun and off we go. Hooter goes and i walk to the centre of the octagon, BOOM! first punch Chuck throws and overhand right from miles away and clean KO's me.

man, i love this game, i cannot play as shogun though, i cant use him on teh ground atall, i go for a takedown most of them gets stopped by chcuk, and everytime i manage to get him on teh gorund chucks gets it standing again, ive lost twice on expericanced dificulty out of my 3 fighst with shogun lol, but managed to KO chcuk witha flying knee, i much prefer playing with chuck, but ive forgotton most of teh controls from the tutorial already, so i need to keep refreshing and paractasing

That is exactly what happened to me. With the takedowns unless you time it with his punches he will always sprawl. Be careful there because he can get in the mount very quickly from there and it all ends in tears.

Once you have timed it you can take him down almost at will, what i have noticed is if you do a minor transition whilst taking him down you can land in half guard straight away. The ground games takes longer to master but when you do it feels awesome. I pick Chuck off with kicks, then i take him down and work some GnP. Submitting is super hard, i only did once via Kimura.

I have to be really nice to chuck to let him out of the 1st round now, if I want a long fight I just keep taking him down or pulling guard and going for omoplata>rnc. so fun

I love the game, but I couldn't pull any submissions yet, even on Novice, maybe i'm doing something wrong.

IMO game has a lot of depth and its fun.

I can't wait for it to come out.
