Which is the better game?
Which is the better game?
I voted Undisputed as I have played all three MMA games and I think UFC is better because you're fighting much more well known fighters. I had problems with EA MMA striking system and have switched to 'classic' or 'ufc undisputed' style of controls. Other than that EA MMA has a much better mentor in career mode (Bas Rutten) and much better tattos in career mode. Undisputed has good presentation and when you play the game it feels like you're watching a fight. And what I like about UFC Undisputed is they made an MMA game and not a kickboxing game because ground game in Undisputed is complex (as it is in real life) and does not consist of four buttons.
I find EA MMA by far superior to Undisputed. It's much more fluid and it doesn't include button mashing. The controls are great once you get used to them and the Create-a-Fighter gives you almost unlimited possibilities INCLUDING names and nicknames of UFC fighters (and the ring announcer even says the name). The submission system requires some strategizing especially against human opponents and it doesn't rely on button mashing or "shining" at all. There's a variety of styles in the game, and also sub-styles. For example you can build a BJJ whiz who is especially good at leg locks or an actual counter striker (meaning counter striking is actually possible in this game). That's because you have so many stats like hand speed, left hand strength, right hand strength (I guess you get the idea). It has unified rules, DREAM rules and vale tudo, octagon and a ring and did I mention it doesn't use button mashing at all? I don't think I have. Blocking transitions actually involves you pressing a button instead of "3 blocks max and then he passes your guard". Did I mention you don't have to rotate your controller stick a lot?
Wow, this turned out to be a minor wall of text. :confused05:
I like EA MMA ALOT more.
I'm not really a big fighter game fan, so don't have an opinion, but I moved the thread to the video game section.
+Has a submission system that works.
+arguably better looking models
+i like the striking system better. you put together your own combos instead of havering preset ones.
+ i iike the dash movement style to avoid punches and stuff
+variety in organizations rule sets and fighting arenas.
+internet fighter share.
+regular CAFs are actualy worth a damn although still not as good as those that go through career mode.
- too easy (I koed fedor on legendary with ken shamrock with in the first week when i had it
- commentating is horrible I mean some time i think it has to be a joke and there is no way they were serious when they came up with these lines.
+personaly i like the grapling system better.
+ i also like the takedown system better.
+ damage system a little better (for instance you leg kick a guy enough and he wot be able to walk we for the rest of the match and he becomes un able to stop TDs
+ KOs are a little more epic and big strikes seem to have a little more "pop" in them and just look better.
- too hard for a lot of people and the degree the dificulty jumps. For instance in career mode you can pretty much run through the class but the difficulty jumps up dramatically like 5 folds almost. Also the title defense mode is extremely hard because damage is cumulative. Most people can make it to fight 10 11 or 12 but lose. I can do it but it took me a long time to figure it out.
- Submissions suck!!!!
As far as career mode thats more personal preference than anything i prefer EA mma.
Taking all that into affect i prefer EA MMA.
