So far the best games I've played this year are TWD, replaying the Metal Gear games 1-3 (bought 4, it'll be here in a few days), and Black Mesa. Kinda sad that most of the best games I've played this year are HD remakes of games made generations ago. I was disappointed by most games this gen.
Metal Gear Solid is the greatest franchise ever. Completed Snake Eater a month or two ago, MGS 2 before that (including AWFUL VR missions) and I had MGS 4 and 1 on the PS3. The storytelling is literally astounding.

Yeah like I'm probably much more of a gamer now. Beofre my PS3 broke I was checking dates for games, excited for them to come out etc., and with the PS1/2 or Mega Drive I just played any game I got for my birthday or christmas. I had the Sega Collection PS3 disk and it was literally my favourite game. Had all the classics on it.

Yeah Metal Gear Solid is just pure epicness. I can still recall the ending speech that was given at the end of Metal gear solid 1.

Metal Gear Solid 4 was more of a movie then a freaking game though. I remember sitting there thinking "Ok the game is over and then all of the sudden another 10 minute cutscene appears.. lol." Still though i loved every minute of it.

I've started TWD already but I try to avoid this thread like the plague for spoilers.

Actually here I'll post my own spoiler for those of you who have started EP4...

Just picked up Borderlands 2. I was surprised to see myself in the game.

I actually didnt like the ending. I didn't need to know that Ocelot had actually had himself hypnotised to have to power of Big Boss because it's a fantasy game. I was completley okay with believing that a transplant arm was taking over his mind. I always skip the ending. I wish Snake had killed himself too. Theres only a few flaws in the story and that whole end scene was a big one. Up until then it was flawless. Snake Eater and 4 werent quite the same because they were outside a lot, so not as infiltratey, but I think in particular the storytelling in 4 was was amazing. When you went back to Shadow Moses to me is the greatest moment in gaming history. Rex Vs Ray...everything together was insane.
