Thats your opinion (Il give you that random games are not as consistently competitive).... Iv had just as good games with organized games as iv had with random games. So too me both of it is competitive gaming. If you are on a team with pro players even if you are not familiar with one another you should be able to figure out what strategy everyone is using and work together. Part of being good is being able to communicate. If you can only play 1 strategy you are likely not very good. But yeah if you are not very good and get stuck on crappy teams i see your point. And even sometimes like you said all players might be good but are also hard headed and wont change characters or strategies to benefit the team as a whole and thus the whole team suffers. It does happen. But there is always a next match.

+

I find good players by playing random games. Then when i befriend those players and when they are on we tend to team up again. It all works together.
Well if i want extreme competitive gaming id join tournaments.

It is technically "competitive" because you are infact competing against another team. But you can't expect to group with completely random people, some of which don't have the means to even communicate (depending on game) and have that team be that competitive.

When you do random matchmaking by yourself and you aren't in ranked play, you are at the absolute lowest tier of competitive gaming and getting mad at that is pretty lame.

If people care, then they should get into games that have ranking systems. LoL has one, SC2 has one, even CoD has it now. If you are actually good, you will level up and leave the lower leagues behind you.

It is not about whether or not you are competing or whether you have a competitive nature. A pickup basketball game is not the NBA finals and people who treat it like that are douchebags.

This is how I feel. You aren't competing for anything, and there is a 99.9 percent chance that nobody in your game is even good enough to play at a competitive level. But they get mad like they would have totally won every game ever but they have a bad teammate...

And it is a video game. If you aren't having fun, it is probably time to put it down.

I like competitive games sometimes but have never been so competitive in them that I have joined any teams or clans or whatever one might call them.

IMO if people join a random group, say joining random games on CoD/BF3 or joining a random PvP match on an MMO or whatever, for the most part people should realize that there will be a wide range of skill differences, age differences, personality differences, and you just need to enjoy the game.

The only exception to this is a game like Monster Hunter and others like it where if your group fails you don't just fail that mission or lose the game and then join another one without any real penalty, you lose your own personal materials (health packs, potions, food, grindstones, money, everything). Every single fail your party gets directly effects your own personal resources that you personally had to grind for hours to get, spent money (in game money) to get, and all around took your time to achieve.

Monster Hunter isn't "competitive", but it's "online", and if you join a High Rank random group where everyone has to use their own resources, the game doesn't give you any, then you should be prepared to be called an assface if you wipe the group out of your inability to play properly (you play Low Rank first on the same basic bosses so there's no excuse to not know how to fight them) - don't join High Rank if you aren't competent enough to play it, you are just ruining everyone elses time and wasting hours of their grinding materials.

Basically - generally speaking relax and just have fun, most games this is the case - but there are defintiely certain times when you need to step back and realize you are ruining the fun of others either on purpose or not, and you need to learn the game better before joining higher ranked modes.

That's what I was saying earlier about ranked games. If you want to play on a good team, then find a game that ranks players and leave the low ranked or "bad" players behind.

No it's more like im kicking someones ass online in ufc undisputed and they quit and say hahaha you can't beat me derpa derpa, or maybe when i'm playing gta and other players are using hack cheats to kill me in one shot and being impossible to kill with my guns. Or as osmium already there are just the typical online dbags that make you say this is too annoying to be worth it.

I agree with that. But at the same time I believe if you are not very good then play non ranked matches so you don't effect someone else's ranking. And its dam near impossible to not get a bit annoyed when someone sucks n they have mo interest in your advice or help. Seeing as how at that.point your time I just completely being wasted in a match that is not fun at all since your loss is pre determined. That said someone who sucks but is trying hard to get better n they listen to advice.. those people are awesome.
