Enough.

This topic is now dropped out of this thread. If someone wants to make a (civil) thread based around this subject then by all means, but this thread has gone way off topic at this point (I will delete the incoming posts from members who weren't able to read this post before posting) and then we all move on.

It's about what games you are playing not which platform has better graphics. Some off banter is good now and then but we are like 4 pages into a discussion that doesn't belong here and is getting too heated for my liking.

It's after chapter 8. That's all I can tell you without spilling spoilers all over the place.

Good to know. I will also say that I'm not exactly against the whole character swapping in this game. I think it's a matter of just accepting the game for what it is rather than what I wanted it to be out of a FF game. It's still not in the upper echelon of FF games but it's a fun JRPG.

The only real issue I've had with the game so far is a couple of enemies that insta kill me out of nowhere before I can figure out how to kill them (like those motorcycles in Chapter 7).

The only issue I had with the game was the battle system which was basically mashing the X button without thinking so you can stun the big boss before he can one hit kill you.

I like the battle system, but can understand where you are coming from. I'm not using auto-battle and instead inputting my own commands and doing that while needing to switch out paradigms regularly is keeping enough action/inputs to help me enjoy it.

I hear FF13-2 is awful though, even from people who enjoy FF13. I'm hoping that it isn't so bad as I'd like to play through all 3 games (13/13-2/lighting returns). Going to try to do what I did with this and just accept it for what it is and go into it with no expectations.

I played the 13-2 demo and i didnt think the demo was that bad. But that was just a demo so i dont know the full story.

Lighting Returns seems to be getting high marks with the people who played the 20minute demo.

The only thing turning me off from what I hear is the ending is only finalized in the DLC. I might just wiki the DLC and catch up on what happened in it for Lightning Returns.

Lighting Returns looks sick. Lightning is my favorite character in FF13 so far (although some don't like her), and the combat is already so radically different from previous FF games that I'm open to the change the series is making.

Since we're on the topic of Final Fantasy, the new one looks amazing. I heard a lot of negative things about it so I ignored any of the videos. My friend showed it to me yesterday and man does it look fun. I like how they moved away from turn based combat. Very few games can pull that off anymore ex. Valkyria Chronicles and XCOM. Only bad thing I noticed was how goofy the characters look. I don't know why the Japanese think skinny emo kids with spiky hair are so cool.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

Yup. It has a battle system like Kingdom Hearts, it has a full open world that you can travel across via chocobo, airships, cars, it has a day/night cycle, dungeons, etc.

It's going to be great.

Really! I would have said 13-2 was better then 13. 13-2 did some things that I liked. For one, its not a 60 hour hallway like 13. you can actually converse with the populace and you get more dialogue options. I did like the idea of jumping to other alternate timelines. Graphics and the soundtrack are beautiful. I'll admit something right here. I do consider 13-2 to be a guilty pleasure. I still think its bad but I had fun playing it. I think the thing that made this game bad was the story itself. Spoilers ahead do not click it if you don't want to know.

Maybe someone can explain to me how this makes sense.

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam
