I played the Elder Scrolls Online Beta last night. I doubt I'll play it when it comes out if it isn't free. It is just an inferior version of Skyrim with people occasionally attacking the same enemy as you.

Now that Final Fantasy 14 actually lets me into the game more than once per week, I am loving it!

Well that actually sounds really ******* cool. I was hoping they would make it more like Skyrim and less like your typical MMO where the attacks are really blocky.

But im bummed out that you dont care for it that much. And no it will be P2P. They already released the monthly price i believe.

It is just that I might as well play Skyrim instead since it is going to be less buggy, not suffer from lag, and have more depth.

They basically announced ESO's failure when they announced it was 13 bucks a month. There's just no way in hell that I'm gonna pay monthly fees for a game when quality games like Guild Wars 2 and Borderlands 2 are going to give me content that is either 100% free or pay-once-and-never-again.

It will probably end up buy to play with a store for vanity items within a year of release. The subscription model doesn't work. They would have been better off selling those ridiculously priced preorder packages like other games have been doing.

That is the model for success right now. Get a bunch of money up front and a big player base then cash in on microtransactions and expansions.

If ESO can give off the vibe of its single player games (big open world, the first person gameplay is solid, random quests/path, go anywhere you want and find something interesting, etc), then I'll buy it and play it. Almost all MMO's give the first month free, so really if it's a $60 game and the first month is free, you have 30 full days of play with just the initial game cost. I've bought games for $60 that I beat in 8 hours and was okay with the purchase. A month of play for $60 is better than 99% of games out there, so I'd be happy with my purchase.

If after a month the game is still a blast to play, then I won't have a problem paying $15 to continue.

I probably won't pay for it. I saw the footage of the in game combat and navigation, and it doesn't look like a game I would play monthly for. I pay for WoW and most likely will pay for FF14 and the EOS game didn't look anywhere near as good as either.

I don't know, I'm extremely bored of regular MMO gameplay. It's outdated by like 5-6 years or more and I'm looking forward to playing an MMO that has full real-time combat. You can stealth in ESO like you can in Skyrim, go crouch, sneak up and get bonus damage for being stealth, move on to next guy. Block/attack/spells are all in real-time, it's first person which is unique to the genre.

FF14 looks like GW2 which looks like WoW which looks like EQ2. I'm personally very much looking forward to a change.
