Does the 2DS have any exclusive games on it or could I just buy a 3DS and turn off the 3D when I want to?

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.

well I don't really need the extra effects and perks, I just wanna play the games you can play on 3ds. Gonna buy chrono trigger ds, wario ware touched, megaman zero collection, megaman zx and zx advent and a link between worlds. Also it was a lot cheaper is the main reason.

Well like I said, there are games specifically designed around 3D, they aren't "perks or extra effects", they are mandatory to enjoy the game. Other games that aren't 3D mandatory like A Link Between Worlds for example, are much better off with 3D on. The puzzles/dungeons are much easier to see and figure out with the 3D on as they are designed around that. Not impossible of course, but they are created with 3D in mind and there were quite a few times in that game where I would have been lost without 3D, or had difficult times during some platform elements.

I understand it being cheaper, though.

2DS is a 3DS without the 3D. 3D is pretty important in some games (see above), so it's worth having it there to use. I suggest getting a 3DS XL, because the 3DS is pretty small (which is why they made the XL). It has a bigger screen/bigger body so it's more comfortable to hold.

Today I have the epic task of finding a decent 3DS game for under 10.

Gonna be a tricky one.

CC if you want to spend the extra 2 Amazon have Resident Evil: Revelations for 12. Looks pretty neat, just put my order in.

BTW I bought Shinobi for 3DS for 5. Plays like a game that cost that much, very poor indeed.

Not yet but it is on my wish list.

You forget that this isn't just some brutal sport where everyones out to kill each other. Its much more like a game of physical chess.-looney liam

Got 'Tales of Xillia' off the Playstation Store for $10. I had a $20 PSN card and that game usually sells for like $50 so I bought it on a whim. Immediately after confirming my purchase I thought "Why the hell did I do that?" I'm always disappointed whenever I try JRPGs these days. That wasn't the case with Tales of Xillia. I'm loving it so far.

The biggest problem I have with JRPGs these days is that they all feel repetitive and outdated. Like I'm playing a PS2 game. I don't get that feeling as much from Tales of Xillia. I say "as much" because the graphics aren't that great. Which is understandable because the game actually came out in 2011. The translated version just didn't come out till last year. But what makes the game feel new is the combat. It's different from anything I've played recently. You can freely move around in real time rather than stand still and wait for your turn. It's like Kingdom Hearts in that regard. And the other thing I liked is the characters. Good main characters are hard to come by in these type of games because the Japanese always have to be over the top with everything. Character designs can never be simple. They have to have an eyepatch, or a scar, or stupidly spikey hair or some ridiculous outfit. Surprisingly, these guys aren't like that. Their designs are fairly plain and uncomplicated but the actual characters themselves are interesting. The way it should be.

Only gripe I have with the game is the voice acting. Now it's by no means awful, it's actually better than most dubbed games. I just would have preferred if they left Japanese audio in with subtitles.

EDIT: Whoa, didn't realize I wrote so much. Just got gone writing an essay so I must still be in writing mode.

Will make predictions for credits. Please, I'm so broke.
