Skyrim on PC especially with the HD and weather mods was an amazing game. I'm hoping The Witcher 3 will be even better.

The Witcher is a good series. I liked the first better than the second, though. 3 looks fun.

Have you played Dark Souls?

Actually a guy I work with told me it was better than Skyrim, but I have never played it. How detailed is the world, how is the magic system if any?

I like it better than Skyrim as well, it is probably my favorite RPG last gen.

The world is extremely detailed, the art is amazing and the atmosphere is better than most (creepy). The magic system is pretty good once you learn how to use it.

You should be able to get it pretty cheap these days. If you get it for the PC then you will want a controller as I hear the keyboard/mouse controls aren't that good with it.

You just have to understand that even though people over-hype the game as the "hardest game ever made", there is a nugget of truth in the difficulty. It's a hard game compared to most modern games, you will die... a lot. It's not cheap deaths, it's just very challenging and you have to go in understanding that in order to enjoy it.

If you don't go in understanding that, expect this fairly quickly:

Good plan.

As for the Witcher, I personally like 1 the best but a lot of people like 2 better. They are part of a series with the same main character so it is probably best to start with 1.

Got it.

Just curious is it one of those games like Skyrim where you run around and do your own thing and now and then continue the story or is it more centered around doing the story the whole time?? Also how many hours do you think you put into them??

It's chapter based. So you start on Chapter 1 and you're in a village (this is after the tutorial), you can roam the whole village and the outside forest/grass type area, a pretty big area. You can do side content and collect sex cards (very mature rated game, you have sex with like...everybody, and you collect a card every time you do). Once you get to a certain point in the main story, chapter 2 starts and you're in a new location and you are now free to do that whole area. You can't go back to previous locations.

As for time, the first game is around the 45-50 hour mark, and the second one is like 25-30 hours.
