I'm with this. Turn based combat is still my favorite type of combat when it comes to RPG games.

Let's be real though, we're all getting it for the humor/story/references. The gameplay is secondary regardless of how good or bad or average it might be.

My copy is out for delivery but I've ordered enough things to know how it works here, it will get here after 12pm, before 3pm. Just enough time for me to finish up my work.

I kinda caved and pirated it, played for a bit and then forced myself to quit. I basically just played the "tutorial" and then walked around town fighting elves and looting stuff. Now I'm gonna force myself to wait for another 48h until it's unlocked on Steam.

I really like that you can collect "customizations" for your avatar like beards and such.

That is the same exact thing i did. I was surprised at how easy and smoothly the pirate went. Hell if i didnt buy the game i might have just been okay with playing the priated game. But i want to get my necromancer costume.

I really like the game. And the battle system is interactive enough where it isnt just pokemon style.

I passed 1 million points and 100 cities in Grepolis and I'm closing in on the 1 million Attack Battle Points mark. Not that it means anything to anyone here lol. But this world started at the end of June so this is months of work I'm talking about. I had no idea the worlds lasted as long as they do. I started doing this one day when the internet was down at work to help kill time. Little did I know how much sleep it would cost me down the line

So, I got about as far as I feel like for the moment in Wasteland 2. It's definitely still in beta and there are moments where you are reminded of that.

The combat is solidly implemented and works very well. Movement and map stuff works well. Character creation works as it should. You can tell they pinned down these basics first, which is exactly how they should be going about it. There are plenty of maps and plotlines that are essentially complete, lots of gameplay to be had.

However I ran into a number of bugs that got progressively worse as I got past eight hours or so into the game, many related to balance and scripting issues. Also some of the skills are incomplete still, although the most basic ones are fully implemented.

There are some fundamental issues at the moment as well. The trade screen is highly flawed currently and aside from being just clunky (they even have a message at the bottom stating they plan to overhaul it) I had items that I purchased just... not show up in my inventory. Many items don't have a unique icon yet, just a placeholder Sometimes my equipped weapons would disappear into thin air for no discernable reason, prompting a reload from save.

Speaking of which, there's no quick save or load binding meaning you have to go into the menu system to manually save. Small detail, but you have to save pretty frequently as the combat can be unforgiving. The killer for me (and what is making me want to wait a bit to play again) is that an entire village of people turned invisible. They will occassionally say something to me but I can't interact with them and all the quests associated with them are essentially broken now.

It's still in early beta and they are very clear about that, so it's no big deal, I just don't really have the free time to beta test.

Still, it's very promising and if you're into the old Fallout style gameplay and setting, you're probably dig this once it's complete.

Been playing a new game called Banished. I'm a huge fan of god games so I figured I'd like it, and sure enough I did. Wish the pace was a bit faster and there were more buildings to add though.

Thanks for the details. I was on the fence about getting this now or wait until release, and as I figured it is a bit too buggy at the moment to warrant price. I'm excited for its final version.

I played some South park - fun stuff all around. The combat is deeper than I had expected (although still simple) and so far exploring South Park has been a lot of fun. Considering I have like 2 hours of solid gameplay and haven't done any main/side quests, I don't know how people are beating this in 10-15 hours? Main story/side content/collectibles/collecting friends/exploring the town - all in 10-15 hours? It will be interesting to see how long it takes to fully complete the game.

Been playing AC4 for a while now. Sometimes this game feels like I am doing nothing but tailing some dude and then eavesdropping on them.

Eagerly awaiting pay day to get Donkey Kong on 3DS. Looks great from what I've seen. Think Yoshi's Island will be a little out of budget for now.
