I fixed it. Seems like somehow Dark Souls was using an old version of the Windows Live client or something. I got it working, the only slight bummer is it seems as if the game caps the refresh rate at 60hz in which case I may have to play with vsync on.

I hear the PC controls are awful, and I would think they would be considering how complex the combat is in the game. Make sure you use a controller.

And.. good luck. Let me know if you have any questions.

Good stuff. Also, just a tip - weapon damage is less important than their move set. Each weapon handles differently (or many do), use R1/R2 (or the 360 equivalent), push down/up on the left joystick while pushing R1/R2, etc. Find a weapon that has a move set you like the best and then upgrade it after you reach the first blacksmith.

Also, if you're going to make a DEX build, you can get one of the best swords in the game move set wise very early by killing the merchant near the start of the game. It's a Katana, my favorite breed of weapons in the Souls series.

Speaking of that, don't hit ANY npcs in this game without checking on what happens if you do. They can all be killed, some drop great stuff like that sword, some don't and others will hurt your overall game.

I could go on and on and on when it comes to tips, so I'll stop lol.

I just killed Dragonrider without him touching me once lol.

Looks like il be fighting another boss right away. After i activated all the switches in that area a big bridge rose up and looks like a boss is waiting at the end of it. How tough is he?? I have not gone in yet. Im done for the night.

Yeah, Dragonrdier is one of the easier ones in the game (among quite a few, actually, you'll be surprised). The next one is Old Dragonslayer, he's Ornstein from the first game (but without Smough this time). He can be a bit tricky but for the most part the fight is the same as the last one, circle to his back/roll.

I will say though that he is an optional boss, you can always come back to him later. The most important thing is that you get the ring of binding right outside his fog gate in that chest, as it reduce the maximum death penalty to 75% instead of 50%, and 75% is more than enough life to fight most areas/bosses.

i only tried this boss once and i got killed in 2 hits but what about the "bosses" in the area that the hawk grabs you and flies you to a different place after you beat the pursuer??? Are those guys tough?? I died quickly so i didnt get much time to feel them out.

The Hawk takes you to a place called Lost Bastille, and those aren't bosses they are normal enemies. There's only one boss in Lost Bastille and it's your next roadblock (or it was mine at least). Right now you want to go to no-man's wharf (which leads to Lost Bastille after, and is the proper way to get to it). To get to the Wharf you continue on down the path of the dragonrider you killed. Make sure you have a torch or two (for the Wharf, don't use them up on the journey there).

As for the boss 2 shotting you, he hits like a truck, but he's easy to avoid so long as you circle him and roll to his back when he attacks. The key to that fight is staying close and keeping on his back. As I said though, he's optional and only required if you want to join the blue sentinel covenant. He gives a nice pack of souls of course, but you can always jump on him after you level up some if you want.

Man DayZ has come a long way. It plays so much smoother than it did when the Alpha was initially released. So many more items and weapons. Having a good time.

PC Controls for Dark Souls on the PC were beyond bad, I'm talking unplayable. Luckily I was able to dig an old controller out from some old boxed stuff.

Dark Souls 2 for PC is supposed to be full optimised for mouse keyboard and is being shipped with a high res texture pack - hence the 6 week delay in the release date.

Can't wait - lol as soon as you (or anyone) starts talking story I've gotta skip the rest of the post... don't want to spoil any surprises!
