Played some Destiny Beta at a friend's house. It's not a bad game by all means but some things about it just aren't right IMO.
First of all the aiming controls suck ass because you use a gamepad and they give you an aimbot to make it easier. I take that as an insult. We tried using keyboard and mouse but it didn't work, maybe because it's still a beta. All I know is gamepads and shooters should stay as far away from each other as possible.
Second, they seriously reduced your choices when upgrading weapons and armor. In the trailers and early gameplay videos you can see you can collect weapon parts and upgrade them individually. We'll in the beta you can't. You have one set of predetermined upgrades for each weapon and you just buy them. And there goes that whole part of the game that made it interesting...
Third, the loading times are baaaaaad. About a minute and a half to load the first area of the game, not as bad when you go back to the Tower. May be a beta problem.
Fourth, there is no ******* loot. Maybe I'm just spoiled by all the other games out there but we played two characters to level 5 and in total we found maybe 4 or 5 items (excluding the quest rewards).
Fifth, it only made me want to play Borderlands even more. Again, it's not a bad game by all means but the way it is now (without the custom weapon modification, basically no loot, have to use gamepad) I might as well play Borderlands 2 or the upcoming Pre-Sequel on my PC.
Sixth, you need ******* Playstation Plus for basically everything from joining a party (yes, that's correct) to PvP.
Seventh, it's not going to come to PC because Bungie is led by an asshole who claims nobody likes to play shooters with keyboard and mouse (actual quote) and they single handedly revolutionized FPS when they made Halo. What a jackass.
