WECWorld Extreme Cagefighting is an American mixed martial arts promotion. It is the sister promotion to the UFC, both owned and produced by ZUFFA, with a focus on lighter weight classes and talent building for the UFC. As with its older and much larger sibling, the WEC uses the same rules as the UFC, but it holds its fights in a smaller octagonal cage.
Filho is a world-class fighter with a 15-0 professional record. He has fought all over the world, including the now-defunct Pride Fighting Championships in Japan. Filho recently defeated Joe Doerksen for the WEC middleweight title and will make his first defense Dec. 12 in Las Vegas against Frank "Twinkletoes" Trigg.
Filho will arrive in Ludlow Nov. 1 to begin the final phase of his training for this fight against a very tough opponent. Trigg has held his own against many of the big names in the UFC, such as former welterweight champions Matt Hughes and Georges St. Pierre.
I really like this fact. Trigg is a great wrestler with OK stand-up and he should give a real good test for Filho. I don't see any way Filho loses this fight though.
Filho will horribly tool Trigg on the ground. Or that's what I think anyways ... MMA is a crazy sport.
I think Trigg can make this fight interesting for awhile because he has a wrestling background, but Filho will eventually get this fight to the ground and submit Trigg. Filho by Trigg's most feared submission ... the RNC! Ha.
P.S. Anyone know the origins of Frank's ring name? It's so lame.
Trigg's pretty, "meh" on the commentary side of things.
As a fighter, he's usually fun to watch. Not great or anything, but someone who will not bring the boring. I don't care for Trigg, but he has had more exciting fights than boring one's.
This is a solid match-up. Trigg still has that Misaki win to cling to, and Filho just schooled Misaki not too long ago.

Ummmm, no he didn't. That was a complete schooling.
I'll officially go on record as saying that I think Trigg has a pretty good shot at this fight. He's actually learned to defend a RNC and he's lightyears ahead of Filho standing.

Trigg also beat Mayhem.
Trigg is a good fighter not great but I want him to win so badly and he has a better chance than Joe Doerkson.
I expect Filho to get Trigg's back but because he doesn't want to risk losing dominate position he will just stay there instead of slipping in a RNC even though Trigg being Trigg well give it to him.
Plus he trains at Xtreme Couture now, so you have to know that he will walk into the Filho fight with a great game plan. I heard somewhere that Xtreme Couture trained fighters are like 45-7 in 2007. That's insane, but a testament to the type of work those guys put in. Trigg could pull this one out, at least I think so.
