If this fight happens I'm giving it to Sonnen, it also says that after this fight Filho will move up to 205 because of weight cutting issues.

Filho will do alright at 205 in the WEC, but this basically means he's never gonna make it to the UFC. He can't hang at 205 with all the talent they have at LHW.

I wouldn't be surprised if Chonnen beat him. Filho really needs to quit lifting weights and diet a bit, because outside of 185, he's not that special. His height and striking will hold him back.

O how badly I want to see Shogun vs Filho or Wanderlei vs Filho for all the crap he has said about them. Man that would be a good old fashion PRIDE blood feud fight.

O well that makes no sense at all. I mean Filho would clear out guys like Rhino Marshall and Brian Stann easily at least the WEC can bring in game opponents at MW to fight Filho all the top 205'ers are in the UFC except for Nogueira and Arona and Arona and Filho won't fight.

Yea Filho will probably win again. As long as he can find a way to get it to the ground he should be fine. If he gets on top then we are all in for a snorefest hopefully Sonnen takes him down and we can have an exicting fight.

From what I remember Sonnen was doing quite well in the stand up in their last fight. And then he went to the ground with Filho and thats why he lost. I think he should keep it standing and use his reach to keep Filho from taking him down.

I agree I was saying Filho has to get it to the ground. If Sonnen takes him down this will be fun to watch if Filho takes him down he's going to hold position and win by UD.

Chonnen = Chael Sonnen right? I'm assuming there isn't some fight slated with Ryo Chonan that I'm totally oblivious to.

Am I the only one that doesn't understand this move up to LHW? Filho's big for a MW sure, but he's also short as hell. His strength isn't going to be the advantage at 205 that it was at 185. Plus, now he's going to be giving up reach... an area that he doesn't need to be giving his opponents any advantages. He goes from being cream of the crop at MW to being... what at LHW?

As kds said, he's virtually assuring himself that he'll never enter the LHW division in the UFC (as much as I'd love to see Wanderlei or Shogun whomp his face in.. as bbjd said). Hell, I'd even give Brian Stann a shot at beating Filho... with Stann's reach and striking. It just seems like Filho's overconfident and is actually going to be playing to his opponent's advantage.

About the fight with Sonnen, Sonnen could win if he keeps it standing and doesn't do the "revert to your roots" crap and takes Filho down. Otherwise, Chael has already established that he has less-than-stellar submission defense with 3 sub losses to Jeremy Horn AND the recent loss to Filho. I still think Filho takes this... just hopefully in a more impressive fashion.
