WEC World Extreme Cagefighting is an American mixed martial arts promotion. It is the sister promotion to the UFC, both owned and produced by ZUFFA, with a focus on lighter weight classes and talent building for the UFC. As with its older and much larger sibling, the WEC uses the same rules as the UFC, but it holds its fights in a smaller octagonal cage.

Was Garcia vs. Takaya stopped early?
I thought that Takaya didn't really take much damage and I defiantly thought they should've let it go much longer. He seemed rocked but defiantly not finished.

I think the fact that he was standing up when the fight got stopped says it all. I think Garcia should have been allowed to step in and try and truly finish him off. And I really hate these debates cause I feel as though I'm taking something away from Leonard. He won, and he did so convincingly, but I'm sure he would have liked to do it, not the ref...to avoid any questions like this.
Nonetheless, great fight for Garcia, but yes, it was an early stoppage.

Exactly I mean Takaya looked rocked not Knocked out. In fact I think that a bunch of the fights had guys who got hurt much worse than Takaya and the ref (which seemed to be Steve for every fight but this one) didn't step in.
Takaya looked pretty good i mean he got dropped tried to stand up and got hit twice I believe and he didn't look that hurt.
I like Garcia and like you KDS feel bad about mentioning this but I feel it was a very early stoppage.

He looked out on his feet. I have no problem with the stoppage.

I don't think it was a bad stoppage, but I think it would been ok if they had let it go on a little further. If it had gone on a little further, I don't think the outcome would of changed.

He was out man. It was a foregone conclusion that it was over. He didnt even know that the fight had been stopped. What would letting him take 5 more shots to the face have done??

While I think Garcia would've won I've seen tons of fights were a guy has recovered from being in much worse shape to win. If Garcia hit him with a number of unanswered punches than cool but I think he hit 2 punches after he put Takaya down.

I can see where you are coming from though after the punch Garcia delivered holding the back of Takaya's head while he was down, I really think the referee was doing Takaya a favor there. I understand your point, but it was the referee's discretion, and I believe the right call was made. It certainly wasn't a shady call (not implying that you think so)
