WEC World Extreme Cagefighting is an American mixed martial arts promotion. It is the sister promotion to the UFC, both owned and produced by ZUFFA, with a focus on lighter weight classes and talent building for the UFC. As with its older and much larger sibling, the WEC uses the same rules as the UFC, but it holds its fights in a smaller octagonal cage.

Carlos Condit's Weight

VS had him listed at 167.5 if I recall correctly. I wanna know does he cut to get to 170 or does he walk around close to it? He does seem on the small side for a 170er and he could be a SICK 155 fighter imho.

I really don't know, but I would think that he probably cuts a bit of weight but not as much as other guys at that class. I know he could make 165 and maybe 160, but probably not 155. So he's at a small disadvantage in his weight class, but I think his height makes up for it. He's kind of stuck in between classes. If there was a 165 division he would be a monster. As it is, he's really, really good at 170.

I doubt he cuts any weight to get to 170, I'm pretty sure 167.5 is just the weight he walks around out a couple weeks out of his fight

He weighed in at his walking weight.
The guy fights natural.

He doesn't have much on his bones but I am sure he could get down 12 lbs to LW and would probably do pretty well there.
I am increasingly impressed with Carlos Condit but if he were thinking of coming to the UFC I think it would have to be in LW. He is too little for our WW.

I agree^^^^
I think Condit is too small for the UFC WW division.
Personally I don't think he should go to the UFC. He is doing very well in the WEC.
You know what they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it. I like Condit a lot. He's a good fighter.

He is 6'2 and looked as thin as anyone that height and build could possibly get, there is no way he could make 155 and it wouldn't be right for him I don't think. I do think that he should put on a lot more muscle and cut to 170 from a bigger weight though.

EDIT: Corey Hill is a freak exception.

I have to agree w/ya. And I am with you as well on staying where he is at. I look at the UFC and the WEC less as the Major Leagues and the Minor Leagues as two great organizations on quite equal footing. The WEC has a different "feel" to it imo. I like 'em both of course.

I think the two really compliment each other and help to cut down on the "monopoly" issue. Plus I love the lower weight classes...total buzz saw excitement.

But yeah...Carlos seems a little lanky for the UFC WW division. Although...170 is 170. And he is 6'2" tall. That is not really a little guy.
