WECWorld Extreme Cagefighting is an American mixed martial arts promotion. It is the sister promotion to the UFC, both owned and produced by ZUFFA, with a focus on lighter weight classes and talent building for the UFC. As with its older and much larger sibling, the WEC uses the same rules as the UFC, but it holds its fights in a smaller octagonal cage.
Maybe I'm alone in this feeling, but everytime i catch WEC on tv, i'm amazed at how in-depth the announcers go in their nut-huggery of the WEC champs. It's like they dont think anyone should even be in the cage with them. Frank Mir is the man, but even though he has said he considers the UFC as the premier fighting organization and every other org. to be second best, he seems to jump on the nut hugging train for their unbeatable champs like Carlos Condit. The announcing of this organization is the single greatest reason i can't follow WEC as religiously as UFC.

The amount of nuthugging on Urijah Faber is amazing and it made his fight with Jeff Curran almost hard to watch even though it was an exicting fight.
The love they give Condit isn't as bad but it is a little much.
Rhino Marshall sucks so the fact that they even say one nice thing about him makes me laugh out load.
Filho and Varner both belong in the UFC they are both very good fighters but Mir should get off Filho's dick at times and stop talking about how strong he is we get it after the first 5 times you say it. And the other guy (idk his name even though I watch every event) Needs to stop saying Filho has the best BJJ in the world it's not true.

Well there is a mute button for a reason. What do you expect them to do, come out and say "We know we're not like the WEC and our champs suck but please don't flip to re-runs of Eeverybody Loves Raymond."
Furthermore, the only guy they really show too much man love towards is Faber and I am wondering what they will do if Pulver or Garcia tools his ass bad. I really think they just get rid of thier weak LHW division but other than that I think the LW, WW, and MW champs could hold there own in the UFC maybe not be champs but hold there own.
They can go ahead and talk about how great their champions are, but perhaps when the champ is on his back getting ground & pounded they can mention that the challenger has some skills?
I almost forgot about the other question i have, which is how long are they going to wait to give pulver a title shot when he's in a completely different league than anyone else in any division in WEC?

They do, did you see Chonnen/Filho, mir was openly questioning why Chael was talking Paulo down when he was clearly winning the stand up. They gave mad props to Torres in his fight with Beebe and I think were surprised when Varner was out striking a dead man walking McCullogh.
IMC they were nuthugging pretty hard when Curran had Faber's back and they were making it sound like it was Faber's strategy or some sh*t.
I think at times they try to make Condit sound like the best WW in the world but he is in the top 10 and for the WEC to have a top 10 WW is big so I don't get to mad at that.
The commentary during Faber's fight with Curran was much worse than the cmmentary during any Condit fight. They just need to replace Mir with whoever during Faber's fights. Hell, I'd take Quadros at this moment. I just don't want to hear Mir cream his pants when Faber fixes his hair.
Still, Condit could be great, Faber's a good fighter, Torres is freakin' legit, as is Varner. 4 of their champs have the potential to be great. I couldn't care any less about Paulo Filho.
You think Mir on Faber is bad? Could you imagine a fight between Faber and Filho? I know not even the same weight class but as much as Mir spoozes over both of them, they would have to call EMS to resisitate him after that one. I could just see Mir after the fight looking wore out, sweating and smoking a cigarette, lol.

the whole point is for them to build them up. Its what they do. They do this in every sport even though we know what they sa isnt true
