WEC World Extreme Cagefighting is an American mixed martial arts promotion. It is the sister promotion to the UFC, both owned and produced by ZUFFA, with a focus on lighter weight classes and talent building for the UFC. As with its older and much larger sibling, the WEC uses the same rules as the UFC, but it holds its fights in a smaller octagonal cage.

Is anyone here a fan of Doug Marshall?
I'm not. I think Stann is going to put a beat down on him. Discuss.

I find it hard pressed to defend Doug Marshall because of how untalented he is, but I must say, I picked him for my fantasy roster because he was a Title Holder
As far as Stann though, why is everyone on his nuts? If hitting hard was what got him fans...shouldn't people like Doug Marshall too?

I thought Marshall looked good in his last fight.

Stann doesn't have the experience and/or ground game to compete IMO. The armbar Marshall pulled off in his last fight was pretty slick. I kind of like him in the sense he is entertaining to watch fight and his interviews are interesting. Would he get ass handed to him in the UFC sure but that is no reason not to like the big fish in the small pond.

Its the way they have been marketing him as the military US hero. I have no problem for it and think its a great tool, but I fear we are going to see a Nate Quarry and Doug is going to kill the kid and his possibly his career.

No I'm not a fan of Doug Marshall.
But then again I'm also not a fan of Drowning Puppies, Beating up little kids, The Notebook, Anything that has to do with Barbara Streisand, and Never Back Down.
Doug Marshall is a bad fighter. He is a brawler who isn't even that good at brawling.
I think he will lose to Stann but I don't think Stann at this point in time is that good either.

Stann is a much bigger guy than Marshall and his stand up really hasn't looked that bad. He's also walked through everyone he's fought. In fact, I think Stann has better stand up than Marshall. And come one man, it's kind of insulting to say that someone doesn't have the experience or ground game to compete with Marshall.
Stann will win this by TKO in the first.

Marshall is 5'10" and did fight as a HW then dropped to LHW when Zuffa bought WEC and did away with the HW division so now he is 205lbs, with a 71" reach. Stann is 6'1" weighs in at 204-05lbs. with a 71.5" reach so I don't think size is that much of an advantage.

How does walking through everyone he's fought help him in a fight with Marshall? I mean really I will give you he walked through Billington his first real test. Fighting guys with 5-4, 1-3, 4-0, and 4-3 records doesn't really impress me that much. As for better striker I think it will be interesting to see where each mans is in that regard of the fight game.

This is two fronts. First, say what you want Marshall has been fighting professionaly for almost 4 years now while Stann is barely into his second year of fighting. Secondly, I have no idea what Stann's ground game is whereas I have an idea Marshall has improved in that area and could give Stann some real problems there.

Stann is just about as terrible as Marshall is, but at least he has an excuse and isn't an obnoxious idiot, with horrible tattoo's.
Every time Doug Marshall fights, a kitten dies. One of the worst fighters of today. The absolute drizzling shits.
