WEC World Extreme Cagefighting is an American mixed martial arts promotion. It is the sister promotion to the UFC, both owned and produced by ZUFFA, with a focus on lighter weight classes and talent building for the UFC. As with its older and much larger sibling, the WEC uses the same rules as the UFC, but it holds its fights in a smaller octagonal cage.

And we ALL know that if you are employed by the Federal Government in the USA that you are beyond reproach. Call me jaded but I have retained very little faith in the honesty or the accuracy of the "Feds".
And I, for one, worked for it for 20+ years.
Bottom line is that of course Garcia is going to claim his innocence. Is he or isn't he? Only his lawyer will know for sure. We'll just have to wait and see how it falls.

I'm curious to see how this pans out. Obviously I hope he is cleared and returns to the cage but this is pretty serious.

But opinions and facts are two different things. As NavyChief said, none of us knows whether Garcia is guilty or innocent yet- because there are not enough facts available to us yet. Which is why the doom and gloom opinions don't make much sense yet. There aren't facts to support them.
I was in fact avoiding expressing my opinion and stuck to pointing out the few facts that were available- such as that an arrest does not automatically mean an indictment.

Very good points. Just note that I am not trying to start an arguement or anything like that but, since when do I need fact to support an opinion.
http://mw4.m-w.com/dictionary/opinion

Function: noun
Etymology: Middle English, from Anglo-French, from Latin opinion-, opinio, from opinari

1 a: a view, judgment, or appraisal formed in the mind about a particular matter
Apparently an opinion is a view formed in the mind of an individual about a particular matter.

You need facts for your opinion to be proven correct. I could say it's my opinion that it's likely that the center of the earth is full of delicious sherbet ice cream but the facts don't seem to bear that out, do they?

If you think that the sky is green, YES, that is your opinion. I do not have to agree with it, but I do respect it.
I can have an opinion about whatever I choose to. And my opinion on your opinion is that you are wrong, which in turn is my opinion. Got it? My opinion is that you should get this by now.

It seems to me like it's probably pointless and even a bad idea to form and express an opinion without facts in a situation as serious as a legal case, but to each their own.
You of course should feel free to express your non-fact-based opinion, but don't be surprised when I counter with my opinion that an opinion you made up off the top of your head without the benefit of facts isn't worth much
I may not agree with your opinion, and in fact I don't even feel like I have to respect it (not all opinions are equally deserving of respect) but I do respect your right to express it.
