WEC World Extreme Cagefighting is an American mixed martial arts promotion. It is the sister promotion to the UFC, both owned and produced by ZUFFA, with a focus on lighter weight classes and talent building for the UFC. As with its older and much larger sibling, the WEC uses the same rules as the UFC, but it holds its fights in a smaller octagonal cage.

No one in the UFC has BJJ even close to his.

That is correct. However his BJJ isn't as good as Garcia, Jacare, or Gracie.
He also of the 6 guys I put ahead of him is 1 of only 2 training at a gym that isn't top class. I mean Garcia is a ATT, Velasquez is a AKA, and Jacare, Hendricks, and Rosholt are a XC.
Maia and Gracie haven't rounded out their games as much as the other ones.

Roller signed to fight on the AUG 3 card.

Yeah that's the one thing about him. I really wish he would join ATT, because I think that would fit him perfectly. Xtreme Couture would be pretty good too, but they have too many MW's there already.
His BJJ might be below Garcia's and Jacare's, but it's on par, which is pretty damn impressive. And to be honest, I don't think Jacare will join the UFC, so I don't think it matters.

O yea I like Maia a lot however I don't think he will be as successful as Rosholt or Jacare. Now he has an advantage since he should be 3-0 in the UFC before Rosholt has had his first major fight. However Jacare will probably become the MWGP champion in August.
Maia is a very good prospect but the rest of his game hasn't looked as good as a guy like Jacare in Dream.

How do you figure? I would say Maia looked better vs Herman than Jacare did vs Miller; and Herman and Miller are practically the same fighter except Herman has better wrestling and Miller has a bit better jits

Herman isn't IMO as good as Miller. Also Jacare IMO looked better since he didn't do 2 bad standing and on the ground he was clearly better.
Sure he didn't sub him but Miller is almost impossible to sub.
Maia gassed pretty hard against Herman after a round which isn't a good sign.

Well Maia was dominating on the ground for round 1, he was clearly the better grappler there. He got that sick heel hook on Herman that I think anyone else would have tapped to.
He also said that he had the flu for that fight. I'm not sure if it's true, we'll just have to wait and see until his next fight.

True I don't think Herman is all that good. I mean Maia also caught him in a triangle something that happens to Herman all the time.
I like Maia just his pure grappling game wasn't as good as the other guys I listed and the fact he isn't training at a top gym IMO means he is a lesser prospect. Even though I wouldn't really call him or Jacare prospects for much longer.

Herman does get caught in triangles a lot, but you have to think he was really working on defending it leading up to that fight. Maia isn't the kind of guy you want to fight without knowing how to defend the triangle.

I agree just I think Maia is ATM a one trick pony. While Jacare, and Garcia are working on improving their all around MMA games.
