WEC World Extreme Cagefighting is an American mixed martial arts promotion. It is the sister promotion to the UFC, both owned and produced by ZUFFA, with a focus on lighter weight classes and talent building for the UFC. As with its older and much larger sibling, the WEC uses the same rules as the UFC, but it holds its fights in a smaller octagonal cage.

Cerrone is my favorite MMA fighter and I wasn't even upset he lost. It was literally a great fight. One more round though and I think Cerrone would have taken him out, Hendo was def. starting to get worn down.

I thought Cerrone won rounds 4 and 5 while Henderson won 2 and 3. Round 1 was the only round that was really up in the air for me, considering the submission attempts by Donald in the first half and then the takedowns and control by Ben in the second, I think having the top position and doing more "damage" is what won Ben the first round.

When I was watching it I gave round 1 to Ben but kind of doubted myself when both commentators were talking Cowboy up like he had a much better round. It was razor close and fights like this are just another reason why we need to get rid of this ancient 10-point must system and go with something more geared for MMA. Fightmetric has a damn good system and I'd love to see the numbers for this fight.

woah woah woah woah woah.... he looked great but he has awhile before we can start calling him Hendo too.

I'll definitely get on the bandwagon that wants him to beat up Varner.

No doubt it was a great fight, I knew Henderson was gonna be tough. I'm a Cerrone fan but he was overlooking this fight and paying to much attention to Varner. I can't believe all the sub attempts failed, that was very discouraging. Decisions are always up in the air. I wish Cerrone won, but he'll be back for sure. Now I want to see Henderson destroy Varner, and than Cerrone vs. Varner 2, and if that works out in Cerrone's favor I wanna see this rematch.

P.S. WEC is getting so exciting and the fact that it's free is even better, siked on Brown vs. Aldo!

Placing a small wager on Henderson and Cerrone was actually a good choice.

I actually had the fight for Henderson. 2 and 3 obviously for him ( i don't know what that one guy was smokin that thought Cerrone won round 3.) 4 and 5 for Cerrone.

In round 1, Cerrone had a real nice sub, but I thought Henderson controled the round real well after that. I would not be calling it a robbery if the judges gave it to Cerrone, it was an extremely tight choke that would of caused most people to tap.

It was a good fight.
BUT...

Just because Varner is a douche bag doesn't been he'll be man raped by Henderson. Varner BEAT Cerrone soundly. He made Cerrone look average. Henderson made Cerrone look good. So I'll put my imaginary money on Varner.

Yeah, i think Varner is gonna run straight through Henderson inside of two rounds. Varner has better stand up and much better tdd defense than Cerrone. Henderson's only real hope is to catch Varner in a sub and i dont think he will be able to do that.

I had Cerrone winning round 1,4 and 5 by a wide margin. Clearly it was round 1 that was debatable because Henderson landed some stuff in that round, but he didn't rock Cerrone or was close to winning the fight in any way. I was really surprised that getting out of submissions can actually win you a round. I wish they'd finally get rid of the 10 point must system and use some kind of modified Japanese judging where the guy that tries to finish the fight most should win. In my view that was clearly Cerrone. I'm not even sure if round 4 or 5 were maybe 10-8 worthy, because I don't remember Henderson doing anything in these rounds. Cerrone had Henderson in all kinds of submission attempts and Henderson wasn't even close to finishing Cerrone. I gotta rewatch...

Im not crazy about the ten point must system either, but the judging in Japan is pure shit.
