last night. the greatest LW in Pride history fell, easily.

just like the greatest MW/LHW Champion fell, easily, a couple years ago.

just like the Pride GP winners fell, easily (altho forrest had to work, Cro Cop just fell).

One guy left really?? i see no reason to think things will go that different for him.

make it happen, the last emperior is the last holdout, the last Pride Champion to be humbled completely in the octogan.

fedor wont be beaten by anyone in the ufc, in my opinion. his hardest fight would be brock just because of the size difference..i think he can win.

pretty much the opinions i want + the reasoning why literally EVERY pride champion or GP winner is looking like ass just 5 years later?? i mean they couldnt have all gotten over the hill at 30 or so, could they??

also... still alot of confidence in Fedor. Seems watching all the Pride "legends" get disposed of easily wont change ppls minds.

even the guys considered fedors toughest wins are easily owned these days.

hard for me to think he could run thru the UFC when nobody else from the "Golden years" of pride can, with the possible exception of Shogun who was a GP winner and could be LHW Champion soon, even he hasnt looked that good in the UFC minus one fight.

a silva was nowhere near his prime back then, those losses are just as relevent as wandy's losses when he first came to UFC.

i'll give you chuck though, he was at his best when rampage best him.



fedor ain't coming to the UFC. M1 is just way too demanding, if they wern't in the picture fedor would've been in the ufc years ago. fedor's the best no doubt, but if he fought all of the four horsemen he'd have his first legit loss.

Gomi MIGHT be a gatekeeper now. I dont see him beating any LW with good hands, he looked beyond bad.


To think ppl considered Gomis hands the best at LW and Nogs hands the best at HW for a long time in pride... just shows you how bad those guys really were.

literally 2 of the worst boxers i have seen in my life (considering the level they are at, world champions of MMA, not worse then some bums i know with no training of course).

So what's your point dude the game is changing by the day and the UFC is at the forefront of this. If you're not fighting in the UFC or at least in a training camp associated then you're going to be lagging behind (with the exception of fedor possibly who knows till he fights the new breed). Why do you have so much hate for the old champs of pride? surely they gave you a lot of entertainment in their prime?
Don't forget the current HW Champ is the former WWF/WWE champ so therefore in MMA;
WWE champs > UFC champs > Pride champs

I just feel and think that fedor is one a whole different level then these other fighters..we can discuss it all day but i cant wait for fedor to fight cain,brock, jds , mir, carwin etc..so i can shut you up or you can shut me up

Wanderlei was champion November 3, 2001 at the same time as tito who hasnt won in how many years?

Noguiera was champion November 9, 2003, at the same time that TIm sylvia and ricco rodriquez were champion...both look worse then noguiera

Gomi was champion when sean serk had it? i think so

my point is that at the time they were in their primes..and so were the ufc champions...dont F with pride gp i love pride

i get your point about fedor...but even during these golden years i always thought that nogueira,gomi,shogun and wanderlei could be defeated..but not fedor..i dont know i have faith in the last emperor..lets hope he comes to the ufc in maximum a year from now

if only ONE, just one guy Fedor beat in the past was pretty viable vs the "new blood" i would see a much stronger case.

the fact that literally Fedors toughest challenges are getting owned worse then Fedor owned them makes it hard for me to think he would go undefeated.

watching literally every other pride champion makes it feel even more likely he will lose.

just thought id throw this lil thread out there.

only one Pride legend left unscatched by the UFC now (well, the japanese legends mostly didnt come over, i feel safe saying i think all of them lose aswell).

hopefully Gomi was the last Pride piece to come before the most famous one

The bad thing for Fedor is MMA is continually evolving and his ability to beat fighters who have 30 pounds on him will deterioirate. Add to that he might be slowing down now, I'm not certain he'd beat every heavyweight.
