559 Fights returned to the Valley Strong Ballpark in Visalia, California on May 13, 2023 on Saturday night to an always enthusiastic and supportive Central valley crowd.
This marked the first time that 559 Fights was broadcast locally on MyTV53.
In the main event, defending Women’s Strawweight Champion Stacy Moran rematched Angelica Pimentel.
Pimentel in a winning effort was able to regain the title with superior striking, center cage control and superior grappling.
In the co-main event for the Featherweight Championship, Martine Sandoval defended his title against Southern California visitor Raul Mendoza.
Sandoval was able to technically submit Mendoza with a take down that eventually led to his securing an arm triangle that Mendoza failed to tap out to.
During the post fight interview, representatives of Urijah Faber’s A-1 MMA signed Sandoval to a four fight deal, elevating him to UFC Fight Pass.
In the featured bout, the first three minute round bouts of the evening, Dorian Hale defeated Joseph Palacios with a controlling effort both on the feet and on the mat that lead to an unanimous decision victory.
This event is part of 559 Fights countdown to 100 campaign in which the promotion is counting down to its’ 100th event which is scheduled for Saturday, September 16th back at the Visalia Convention Center.
